Hello Amibay forum,

I believe that I have found the perfect place to get all the information need and finally make a choice on what to get next.

I have been a gamer since I can remember, playing all the old school 2D consoles up to the latest PlayStation 4 and the Xbox one. But, Just recently i have started using my laptop for a little mind finding that it opens up a world of opportunities that you just don't get with the ready built consoles. yet the truth is I don't actually know what goes on inside the computer to make them work well and play all the games I have been wanting to play. I know the laptop I have now (Dell Latitude E6420) is old and can't handle the graphics but I dont know what to get that will give me what i want, and thats why I'm here guys, for the pros advice.

The perfect PC for me would have to be a laptop so it is portable, this is the for the most important thing being as for my job I am always on my feet and moving around. Now, I would like to play games like the top of the range flight simulators and the new GTA 5 or 6 when it gets released. The other thing is, I design logos and T-shirts so I will need the laptop to have enough power to run programs like photoshop and adobe programs. I think with the specs for the gaming the design software should be fine but as said above I'm in a guessing game here.

My budget is $800 - $1000 if it makes all the difference, of course, I would love to spend loads more and get a monster of a machine but unfortunately, I just haven't got the bank balance to do so. Really looking forward to speaking with you guys and seeing what options are out there.

Thanks a bunch

@PackardJack

Interesting, I have not bought a laptop since leaving Uni - I used to use a company in the UK called Laptops Direct, after a few moments looking on line I think I have found something in your price range.

I should point out that you always pay more for the same equipment on a Laptop.

So I would suggest the following

CPU: Intel I7 (6700HQ: 2.6 - 3.5GHz)
RAM: 8GB (DDR4)
GFX: Nvidia 940M (2GB)
HDD: 1TB
OSS: Win10 (since you are focused on gaming)

Now I found this

Lenovo IdeaPad Y700 Gaming Laptop £799.95I am not affiliated with this sale

However I should stress the Ryzen7 has recently been launched and will find its way into the next season of laptops, the 1800x AMD processor offers near i7 (7700) performance for half the price - this will play out in the market with a "price war" as Intel cuts its processor prices to OEM's and laptop manufactures - so it might be a good idea to give yourself a couple of months breathing / saving up money - time ;)

I'm going to have to have a little patients then if it means a lot more for my money in a couple of months, Exciting!! Thank you for finding that info for me and getting me pointed in the right direction. I will check out the link and then try and find some information on this Ryzen7

Thanks again

the ryzen is 15% slower and 30% cheaper currently, and we all know CPU useage means nothing in game once you are over the minimum resolutions, it is all about the GPU ;)

I have spent all night looking at reviews and specs on the Dell and everything about it I really love! Even down to the design of the body is eye-catching to say the least. Not going to jump in and get it yet but I'm certainly heading that way.
