Sorry, I thought it went without saying that you shouldn't use cardboard that's covered in conductive material!
The kind of cardboard used to make breakfast cereal boxes is probably ideal. I use cut up cereal boxes when I'm running bare motherboards on the table. If you don't want your Amiga to say "Frosties" underneath, just buy some cheap card from somewhere.
Hobby supply places (such as Michael's or the "Hobby Lobby" in the states) carry these plastic sheets in various sizes and using a paper cutter and hand hole punch can make identical copies of the insulator sheets and A4000D expansion sheet; the A3000 is trickier.
