I got a box of "projects when i got time", and in that box I found this. But I can't seem to recall what it was for.

Anyone got an idea? I got two of them, so i did have a plan for them whatever they did.

Totally wild stab in the dark, and perhaps I'm wrong, but maybe a ROM switcher that uses a single IC filled with different Kickstarts tied high and low??

The inclusion of a GAL and a jumper suggests something more complex, though - a switcher you could do with nothing but a plain switch. Perhaps some kind of chip adapter?

Gomf Device for bypassing a GURU when placed under a Paula chip. With a Guru error pressing the button would bypass it

Now that's a much more interesting device than what I thought it would be :-)

Using the device with the version 3.0 Gomf (Get Out of My Face) software on a KS 1.X system bypasses 90% of the Gurus.

Assuming it's Amiga related, the only 40-pin chips in say an A500 are the ROM and the two CIAs, so just check which of the pins are simply passed through and which ones are somehow manipulated by the device, then use your better judgement as to where this might belong.

This looks exactly like my internal - external floppy switcher, which I have mounted under the (even?) CIA-B chip.

Thanks! Now that sounds plausible. I have a gutted amiga diskdrive where i used to put a hxc into, so probably bought when I used that - just never got around to install. :)

I will never not mark stuff again. :P
