What's happening over at Amiga Kit?

The last time I used Amigakit, it took less time for me to send a package to Australia than it did to get my order from them - despite the fact they are less than 150 miles away from me.

Placed my order on Tuesday last week.
Paid by card, bank booked that transaction already next day.
Amigakit shows order status PENDING.

Guys. Just to make it clear. It is dependent on what you order from Amigakit. I have already passed over some improvements to them over at Amiga.org. NOTE: I am not associated with them, nor Work for them 😉 So for example if you are ordering something like a Sensor module etc.. It’s a 10 day lead time, as this has to be built from scratch and tested before being shipped.. They only have one Technician and a lot of orders. They also do not work at weekends. Remember that Amiga sellers/Resellers are NOT big businesses like Amazon.

As the originator of this thread, I can say that my personal experience ordering from Amigakit is DRASTICALLY better than it was 12 months ago. The vast majority of my orders are processed and posted within a couple of days of ordering, there has been not a single mistake with any of the numerous products I have purchased, everything has arrived quickly and has been packed impeccably.

I dare say there is the odd item that takes more time to prepare after ordering, but the last dozen orders I have placed have been pretty much perfect, which is a far cry from what I was experiencing just a year or so past.

Again repeating myself

Amigakit was banned from amibay ONLY due to lack of communications. In no way was it the instock on the website then months of pending. We understood the difficulties of full filling many orders etc.

Buyers had to resort to paypal disputes to get them to even acknowledge the buyer at all waiting over 3 months for any sort of update.

Not replying to threads. Pm’s or even direct emails.

The amount of complaints we received we had no choice but to not recommend them as a seller in the UK even to Uk buyer’s where other amiga resellers from all over the world are doing so much better.

I’m glad they are doing better NOW but simply burying your head in the sand and ignoring your buyers is inexcusable hence gone from amibay.

To keep things clear we gave them months of leeway and MULTIPLE chances to even respond to ANYONE. We knew they where wilfully ignoring us and buyers as we obviously could see the account logs and when they where reading the messages and threads they were completely ignoring.

I wish them the best of success but not here at Amibay.

? Sorry, I am not sure I understand. I originally opened this thread because of an issue of orders not coming in a timely manner. Whist communication was also a problem, which definitely worsened the issue, communcation was never the main beef I had - actually getting my orders delivered was.

My updates to this thread are meant to indicate what the current situation is like with regards to orders being fulfilled, well, at least my personal experience anyway. As such, I feel it is useful to prospective buyers - if nothing else it paints a picture of what their service is currently like. Others adding their own recent experiences only gives a more complete picture.

Surely that is a good thing?

And i wish them only the best just not here.

Probably not your intention but your “selling” a company we have BANNED from Amibay. We could delete your posts recommending them but we don’t. For every recommendation you give its our duty to point out the other side of the coin no matter the timescale.

Not once have they reached out to us in any shape or form or any apology to either us or buyers.

You goto understand the amount of time and chances we gave them caused us to do the one thing we didn’t want to do and BAN them from amibay to help protect prospective buyers.

Although a UK based company we simply couldn’t even recommend them to UK buyers.

We HAVE to in good conscience warn buyers ( just as if there was a poor performing ebay seller ) on the risks of either not getting your item. Having to wait over 6months ( yes that happened multiple times ) or even WORSE ignoring your buyers completely. No updates. No messages. No emails. Just took the money and ignored.

Ahhhh, I see.

However, my intention is not to advertise or "sell them", merely to update the situation regarding the issue of order fulfillment.

However you raise a good point - taking into consideration the fact that things definitely seem to have improved with Amigakit on the issues of prompt order fulfillment and communication, would you guys be open to their commincating with Amibay to try and resolve this matter? Obviously I have no affiliation with Amigakit so cannot speak on their behalf, but if this IS an option I would be happy to mention it the next time I communicate with them.

I don’t know what your intentions are but as a bystander the relentless attempts to rehabilitate Amigakit’s reputation (flying in the face of continued negative experiences here and on other forums etc) appears extremely suspicious.

If i could show you the amount of complaints ( and us unfortunately saying nothing to do with amibay ) we received because amigakit had there own section on amibay to god forbid COMMUNICATE with their customers or in this case NOT.

We where seen as recommending and supporting them due to the commercial vendor status they had here.

So. Would you realistically re-open communication with a company ( yes a company not anyone’s best pal or friend). After they gave you the talk to the hand 🤚 and totally ignored you for over 6 months ( yup thats how long it took for us to ban them). Anyone else it would have been the same week/days.

Do we run after them ?? Invite them back ?? When even after banning them ( your not banned to email) not once have they shown any regrets or interest in re building a relationship with amibay.

How can we trust them ever again if they won’t even talk.

Any other company acting in the same way in this day and age would have been “cancelled”

If a company does not engage with it's customers then it does not deserve my patronage.

There was/is no excuse to treat your customers as a cash cow. Also no excuse in saying it's a one-man band, they should go hire somebody on a temporary basis if they are experiencing problems.

Glad AmigaKit got banned from here. Nothing more to say on the matter.

Lol, considering I was the one who opened the thread complaining about their service, I think you need to take your spidee senses in for a tune up. :)

Totally understand, and I can only imagine the number of complaints levelled against Amigakit in the past - I know I had my fair share of frustration and complaints with orders and communication, however it is possible for companies to improve. My question is, is there any avenue for them to approach Amibay mods or has this ship long since sailed?

;) I always pay ecommerce stores via PayPal because they immediately get responsive and suddenly respectful once you file a complaint regarding their radio silence about an unfulfilled order.

The ONLY way I purchase from an online company.

As far as Amigakit go - that ship has sailed and they won’t be allowed back on AmiBay

Fair enough. With that in mind it is probably best to close this thread now as it is, for me, effectively resolved and if left open will probably keep getting updates from members.
