Hello all!
It seems that this thread is missing... :)

In the last 3 years I did buy from sordan.ie a few times and I never had an issue, however recently I contacted them asking for help with a memory expansion I bought one year ago and after 1 month (and 3 messages) I haven't got any reply yet... :(

Has anyone ever dealt with their customer support? Shipping was always fast and also packaging was great but I thought that in case of an issue with an item I would have had warranty support...

I haven't purchased anything from sordan.ie but, i have reached out to them on several occasions to make enquires, and they've always replied, although If i remember they weren't always the quickest. (y)

Have used them a few times. Had to due to another U.K reseller not fulfilling his orders. But you know that one by now.
I did a few years ago have an issue and a Sordan rep/support guy answered fairly quickly. Think it was Peter or petter?
Have bought over a year ago, but not had to contact the support for anything.
Be interested to see others experiences.

Thanks for your comments guys... I wasn't expecting an immediate reply but I think that after a month they could have at least replied to my first message...

I did buy one of those 2 MB A500 expansion cards (made of two parts, a Gary adapter and a Trapdoor expansion) that can give you 1 MB of Chip Ram if you cut JP2 and connect the middle pad to the Gary adapter. The card always worked great but suddenly I had some issues like black screen or yellow screen at boot.

I opened the A500, cleaned the contacts of all custom chips and tried again and the computer started correctly but, since then, I only have a total of 2 MB (0.5 MB of Chip RAM + 1.5 MB of Slow RAM) instead of having a total of 2.5 MB (1 MB of Chip RAM + 1.5 MB of Slow RAM) like I always had.

Since I own a second card like that (not exactly the same model but pretty much identical) I replaced the memory expansion that goes on the trapdoor with the one that works and I got a total of 2.5 MB so it is clear that the issue is on the memory expansion that goes on the trapdoor.

I asked them if there's something I could do to solve the issue myself or if I can send them the card back in order to have it replaced/repaired but, as I said, they never replied to my message... I'm a bit disappointed...

I have purchased recently from sordan.ie 6x items €100~ on the 09/01/2026 and recieved to England successfully on 16/01/2026.
No issues for me so will use again.

Just read their FAQ (Sordan.ie). Mentions the following:

have a question about item I want and I need fast reply, can I have your number phone?

Unfortunately we do not offer phone customer service at this time. Please contact us by sending an e-mail. We usually reply within 1-3 working days for all questions.

They do sell on EBay. Maybe try contacting them on an item they for sale. Point them to this thread as well 👍🏻

I shop there 2-3 times a year since Dublin is not TO faar from Sweden and the delivery is within EU (No customs or taxes).
My experience is all good and I always get what I order. I also think they update their listings to show if an item is in or out of stock.

I did get an Pistorm A500 that had a soldering error. I sent them a picture and they posted a new one the same afternoon even that I had not sent them the faulty one yet. Later I sent the faulty one and I got the new working Pistorm and the whole transaction was a brief.

I think at times they have temporary staff that is "to shy" or do not speak english. If such a person is alone in the shop I guess they avoid phone calls or messages in English. The ordinary staff is OK then and I did not have any problems with my contacts with them.

So just keep mailing/call them and I am sure they will reply. Just as in any complaints case. Keep cool and professional and state your problems in a clear way without being rude or "pissed off". I am 65 and one thing I learned in life is that "you catch more flies with sugar than with winegar". For short being pleasant solves problems way easier than calling someone and overwhelm them with profanitys and angry behaviour. This ofcource not only with Sordan it works wherever you go.

As they have no Phone support 😉

I sent the messages through the "Sordan Contact" on their website like @Boing-ball suggested.

My messages were pretty kind, I think... you can judge yourself:

Dear Customer Support,
I did buy exactly 1 year ago the expansion card in the subject of this message. It was working great until a few days ago when I had some issues like random crashes and yellow screens at power on. I then decided to open my A500 and to clean all the custom chips with IPA and re-seat them just to be sure that the issue wasn't caused by a bad connection.

After that the computer seemed to work well, however I did notice that now I only get 0.5 MB of Chip RAM. Obviously I haven't modified anything, the jumpers are in the same position and the connection to the middle pad on JP2 still works, however there's no way to get 1 MB of Chip RAM. Since I own another expansion card like this one (not exactly the same model but identical in design and function) I did swap the trapdoor expansion (both of them have sel0/sel1 pins to be connected to the Gary adapter) and with the other trapdoor expansion I get 1 MB of Chip RAM and 1.5 MB of Slow RAM. There's no doubt, so, that the issue is in the trapdoor expansion. I have visually inspected the car with a magnifier lens but i can't see anything wrong on it. Do you have any idea about what could be the cause of the issue? It seems that I still can use the expansion card with 0.5 MB of chip RAM and 1,5 MB of Slow RAM but I'd like to have 1 MB of Chip RAM like I always had. Please, let me know if there's something I can check on the trapdoor expansion or if I can send the card back to you for a repair/replacement. Thanks, regards. Livio

PS: I did try the expansion card on two Amiga 500, the one where I always used it and the A500 where I use the second 2MB expansion card I own, and I get the same issue on both the computers.

I can't find my second message in my inbox, maybe I didn't send it to myself, but this is my third message (sent a few days ago):

Hi there!
How's it going? I'm a bit disappointed since this is the third time that I'm writing you for an issue I have with the item in the subject and my first message was about a month ago... Would it be possible to know how we can solve the issue?
Thanks, regards. Livio

Maybe I wasn't as kind as in my first message and I was a bit "direct" but after one month I think that it can be understandable...

Yes, that's exactly the memory expansion I did buy from them.
It was working great for almost an year but now, instead of having 0.5 MB of Chip RAM + 1.5 MB of Slow RAM I only get 1.5 MB of RAM.

Today I received a set of A600 replacement capacitors that I bought from them off eBay. I won't get to the dirty work until later this spring. Price was very reasonable as I couldn't get a better price through DigiKey - my usual electronics parts source.

I have bought a few things from them.

One order (a fairly simple one was perfectly fine.

The second order was for a set of A1200 3.1 ROMs, a set of A4000 3.1 ROMs, and OS3.1.
The A1200 ROMs were fine. The A4000 gave me some head scratching - after installation I just had a black screen. I eventually thought to swap the ROMs around and that worked, so he had labelled the ROMs the wrong way around. Also, I only received the booklet for the A1200, not the A4000. For me that isn't an issue, but if a "newbie" to the scene didn't have it it would potentially cause issues.

I emailed him about both of these issues and got no reply.

I will still use them for future orders as these issues were minor, but he's had one strike for me.

What. Even cheaper than RetropassionUK? 🤔

Bought recently some items from them and everything arrived within reasonable time and worked as expected. So my experience with them was positive.
