Being a bit of a butterfly brain, i usually have 3 or 4 books on the go at the same time time. Currently i'm reading: "Matter" by Iain Banks, "The Terror" by Dan Simmons, "The System of the World" (last book in the Baroque cycle - highly, highly recommended) by Neal Stephenson, and "Vacuum Flowers" by Michael Swanwick.
If its recommendations you're after, i would say...anything by Dan Simmons (both his Horror and SF), anything by Neal Stephenson ( oh, and if you plan on getting the Baroque Cycle i would recommend that you read "Cryptonomicon" as well) and if you want massive, hard science, modern space opera you cant go far wrong with the "Nights Dawn" trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton. Right, i'm off to the library :).

Not only does he use Brian as his avatar but it seems he may actually be Brian! lol

Ha ha :)

Oh, and to keep this on topic this time, an additional book recommendation for you...."Ilium" and "Olympos" by Dan Simmons and the "Fionavar" trilogy by Guy Gavriel Kay.

 for moi?

Thanks, will check them out next time I want a few more books!

I'm reading some fairly simple books right at the moment. I'm on the fifth book in the Dresden Files series, called Death Masks. They are fun reads at about 500 pages and usually take me 3-5 days to finish. I just bought it last night and I'm on page 108. I also just finished re-reading Flinx's Folly and Flinx in Flux by Alan Dean Foster from the Pip and Flinx series. I hadn't read them in a while and thought I would enjoy it. I still don't like Flinx's Folly though. Last major book I read was Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell about two years ago.

Gone with the wind is a classic, not familiar with the others however.

dresden files are fun. the tvshow was okay, sad to see it cancelled

Do androids dream of electric sheep is on my 'to buy' list, its one of those i really wanna read. And I have 'i shall wear midnight' (pratchetts latest) on pre order from amazon.

still got quite a few to read myself to be honest but not missing the chance to get a new release :)

Last Book Read: Mission of Honor (Honor Harrington Series) - by David Weber

Currently Reading: Traitor to the Blood (Noble Dead Series) - by Barb Hendee

Hey... stop looking at me like that... Yes there is a theme to my reading... who doesn't like a strong female character?!?

Finished the Twilight saga (the 4 books) today.

Will check what I have unread.

Just finished 11/22/63 by Stephen King in my Kindle app on the EEE Pad Transformer.

Really good book, of course there was a King twist to the end, I bet it all fits in to the Dark Tower universe he's created. A good read if you're a King fan.

finished: Dmitry Glukhovsky - Metro 2034, jeah :) great sci-fi !
next: Irvine Welsh - Trainspotting

Finished: The Brass Verdict

Now: Game of Thrones book series. Its a bit depressing...

The story of Robin Hood and his merry men by John Finnemore.

Usually there's at least 3 books next to my bed which I'm reading simultaniously :)

I just finished On The Edge yesterday, quite an interesting (and saddening) story really. Besides that I'm currently re-reading Jennifer Government by Max Barry, en Elantris by Brandon Sanderson.

After that, I'm thinking about completely re-reading the whole Wheel of Time series, since the final book will be released on january 8th, 2013.
Summed up, that's 13 books plus a prologue, with a total of 635 chapters on 11.000 pages, containing over 4 million words. And the final book will add about another 360.000 words to that story. I could also go and pick up the audio books, those are good for about 420 hours, or 17,5 days of non-stop listening....

What the hell am I thinking?

I used to read the terry pratchet diskworld novels..
but i havent read anything in years now.

mort was one of my faves, was prety happy with quite a few of the others like feet of clay for instance.

i was really dissapointed with the tv version they made.. did not do any of the books justice at all.

Steve Jobs biography was the last book I finished. Interesting bloke, came across as an ahole though. Though, perhaps that's what it takes to succeed.

Currently reading that latest amiga book. Some of it interesting, other bits drag needlessly.
