Good points and your right.

The 2000 is the best Amiga for access.

I never used a simm adapter, good to know.

I forgot to mention Zipp memory. I don't use it often anymore. It does take time to install them but they never need to be reseated and access speeds are sweet. So I guess one cancels out the other. This seems to be an area of complaint but I never had issues with them.

My favorite has to be the A500 as it was my first Amiga, these days I would say A2000 / A4000, I bounce between them..

the king is AMIGA :boing: 3000T
I have had in the past a 4000T escom, but it isn't the same, 3000T has more personality and more beautiful.

Loved my 3000T, I thought about dual purposing it as a fallout shelter bunker.

The 3KT holds my personal record as the heaviest computer I have ever owned. Nothing even came close!

Great box and beautiful. Nice to have all those card slots... Loved it... As with the D, the quality and high end feel is real nice.

Haha! Call me a heathen if you like, but I think the A3000T is butt ugly! Bloody hideous machines!

why ugly :( ? I had all amiga line, but no one hit me like as the 3000T.

To be fair, I've never seen a 3000T for real, only pictures.

Thing is, it just looks like a rather boring and boxy 1990s PC tower. I don't like the funny bit at the top where the power switch and key are, nor do I care for the sideways 5.25" bays.

In comparison, whilst the A4000T isn't exactly going to win any design awards either, at least it looks quite smart for its era.

Hey, just my opinion. There are probably people out there who like Ataris better than Amigas...

@andy

Heathen? no way. With shipping nowadays you would pay a small fortune to ship the beast.

A3000. Wish it had easier '040 expansion capabilities though. I know some were successful with the A3640 cards but it wasn't always a sure thing.

It has very easy 040/060 options. The best 040 for the 3000 is the Warp Engine 3040, put it in and attach the int clasp and it works perfect every time. Even with varied Ramsey - DMAC configs. The A3640's (2 - 3.1 and 1 3.2) I had all worked for me without any issues. The issues are document but they are for 2.0 and rarely a flakey dmac or ramsey will cause an issue. Again I haven't ever encountered any issues with expanding any accelerators in many different 3000's.

The other nice card is the CS MK III for the 3k, but you need the int 7 line if you use the scsi.

I have a 3000 mythbuster thread here somewhere that goes over this in detail...

I've never had any of the big box Amigas so probably shouldn't comment. MY favourite will be A1200 because of the compact size and the upgrade options. The coming A1200 Reloaded is going to replace it once released. My other favourite model will be A500 for compatibility with the oldest games.

It doesn't get much love but the A1200 was the best amiga in my opinion, it massively reduced the cost of adding a hard drive while giving the rest of the system a much needed boost; shame it was a few years too late.

My original A3000 desktop with the latest chips and a PP&S Mercury 040@40MHz... It was brutally fast compared to stock, and with bursting to motherboard resources enabled with DMAC 4, flat out amazing for its time.

My favourite Amiga had to be my A1200 with Blizzard 1220 and 80MB harddrive which I had as a teenager.

I still have that very machine now but it's rather different to its original configuration.
