OMG, my local area got the upgrade at last.

I remember ftp to a friend on 33.6k modem and thought 8 minutes a floppy disk was good this is ridiculous, I cant imagine the speeds in another 20 years time.

and steam download this morning.

Very nice. I get about 10MB/s in Steam which is great, so nearly double that is really is nice. Upload speed on cable still seems a bit rubbish though. On Infinity I'm getting the following at the moment today:

Holey moley! We're still on around 7.5Mbps. Civilisation has been slow to arrive in this part of the world.

Our exchange has finally been upgraded though. We're due to get connected to 76Mbps next Tuesday.

one bad point now though..
I need to wire the upstairs pc in to the network because wirless is not good enough for these speeds..
It was JUST about good enough for my old line speeds. but it cant even come close to achieving the full line speeds now.
The downstairs computers have been wired to the router so they have full un bridled access to the bandwidth, but my actual good pc.. its stuck in the basic fibre bandwidth due to wireless..
