Have not tried whdload for a long time and since my last try i have now installed a promethus/voodoo3/pci network

And now 90% of the whdload games have stoped working, most of them give me a black screen but some ( like super frog) runs just fine.

I do now know if there is a tcp/ip stack running in the background and i dont know how to check it?

I have a legit cd-key for whdload.

Have not changed anything with the whdload settings or anything like that. Just put in new hardware.

Any sugestions?

Removed the voodoo 3 card from the prometheus and now it works.

But i dont want to remove the card every time i want to play whdload games.

I have heard somthing about settings the INIT on the voodoo 3 to off, how do i do this?

Just noticed that i posted this in the wrong section of the forum, damit. Nothing is working today.

I don't have Prometheus but Mediator. In anyway I don't need to remove my Voodoo3 each time :wooha: and also the INT variable is set to YES.

Do you remember if WHDLoad games runs fine in the past?

You can post the prefs file of your WHDLoad config?

what version of WHDLoad are you running?

when i had this problem, it turned out to be the ip stack, it must be turned off completely, there's a post on here about it somewhere (i'll do a search later)

yep, ok so i just checked back through some notes.

any TCP/IP stack will have this effect on WHDLoad, you must make sure these is no stack running, i seem to remember i had to remove the references to it from my startup:thumbsup:

The WHDload games ran just fine in the past before it installed the prometheus and still does if i remove the voodoo 3 card.

I have not changed the prefs for whdload at all so they are default.

Yes i know, i found your thread about the subject and i linked it in my original post.
The thing is that i do not think there is any tcp/ip stack running, if there where it would not work directly when i remove the voodoo 3 card would it?

doesn't the TCP/IP stuff get it's memory from the graphics card? so no graphics card, no memory, no TCP/IP?

are you using os3.9? i believe that has a TCP/IP stack built in?

but you gotta turn usb stack on/off
there are 3 things that get in whdload's way AFAIK

  • tcp/ip stack
  • usb stack
  • voodoo interupts from picasso96 rtg system

Smal update: I transferd back up backup installation and whdload worked right away with the voodoo still in the machine but not configured in picasso.

But when i added the prometheus in the picasso96 and restarted the same thing started to happen again.

And how do i turn these off?

tcp stack: you need to run GENESIS , this is where you turn it on/off
usb stack: do you even have usb in your system? poseidon is what it controls it
picasso96 voodoo: you need to alter the voodoo icon tooltypes

mind you it has been years since I really messed with an amiga (don't even own one currently, so I cannot explain you the exact procedure...)

But i dont have any voodoo icon or anything like that, all i have is the prometheus icon in my dev folder.

There is no TCP/IP stack running, the damn thing work as long as i dont active the prometheus/voodoo in picassoPrefs.

And ofc i dont have an USB :)

I know that you can edit some stuff with the voodoo if you have a mediator but i have found no such information about the prometheus.

This is what i got on my prometheus icon.

(Borderblank= System)
(MemeroyClock=0)
(Quite)
Bigsprite=NO
BoardType=Prometheus
DisplayChain=NO
FakeNativeModes=NO
FontsFix=NO
GrantDirectAccess=NO
IgnoreMask=NO
NoBlitter=NO
NoPlanar2ChunkyBlits=NO
Overklock=NO
SettingsFile=SYS:Devs/picasso96settings
SoftSprite=NO
System2ScreenBlitz=NO

Dont know what any of those options do.

try yes on the fake native modes option

is there a monitor type in your DEVS drawer?

A3000T :)
No need for a scandoubler :thumbsup:

Please do, do you think there is some difference in the picasso version or somthing like that?
If you read on this side
http://www.whdload.de/docs/en/bugs.html
You can see that the INT signal thingi is fixed if you have the latest whdload and that i have so it should not be a problem. But who knows.

How I got it running ..

-Go with via SHELL to the correct path

and then typing:

WHDLOAD xxxxxxx.slave (where xxxxx is the filename)

It Works..
