A year after retro-brighting, my A4000D fascia/front cover has started going yellow again. I could do it again, but I'd rather just buy one that has so far remained white. So if you have one that is perfectly white (no signs of yellowing at all please) then let me know :) Obviously must not have been retro-brighted!

Sorry to ask, but did you not clear coat the fascia? That should have prevented it.

When done right, you won't be able to tell the difference.. get someone experienced to do this if you are not confident. You could go to a car body shop and ask them.. sure they will think you are weird, but it does the trick and the result is what matters.

Finding an A4000 is not easy.. possible
Finding an A4000 case.. bit harder
Finding an A4000 fascia.. wish one good luck
Finding an A4000 fascia in mint white condition.. is like finding a virgin in a whore house..

Make that your Plan B

I'm afraid that Retr0Briting plastics breaks double bonds in the plastic molecules and allows very quick aging to recur. A clear-coat of matte finish prevents this and is undetectable. I know some folks hate the idea, but a light cream paint for plastics will look pretty decent. OR, Maybe you could have a new one 3D printed?

Vinyl Dye is apparently decent but I've yet to try it. I really want to get round to it though

This isn't a thread to discuss the pro's and con's of retr0bright, this is a trade thread. If you want to discuss retr0bright there is a dedicated thread on the subject.

Ahhh come on buddy.. We are just trying to convince a fella AmiBayer to stop spending and start spraying :-)

But you are right..

So Hear ye.. hear ye.. Those in the kingdom and beyond speak up if thou can supply the good man with what he seeks ;-)

It would - but nothing beats an original I guess :-)

I don't agree. The A4000 case is very inefficient. If I had an A4000D and it was easy and cheap to print a new case which I designed. I would have done it. The A4000T case is ugly and inefficient by today's standards as well. :)

He wants a white A4000D fascia, retr0brite achieves it. If someone offered one for sale or trade, how would he know it hadn't been treated itself? Might as well do it.

Lighten up! (haha, get it?)

Bump, still looking. If somebody owns an A4000 with a white fascia and isn't bothered about the colour, I would happily trade mine plus some cash.
