Why is the Moonstone game so rare?

Well the insane prices on eBay (and Amibay) says it all, that the game is rare and expensive (even the IBM version) :-(

But why is that? Did Mindscape only release the game for a very short period, was the game not that popular during it's release period?

I have always LOVED the game, and this game was one of the reasons for me to buy my first Amiga 500, when I was 12/13yo. Would be nice if they did a new distribution/print of this great game.

If I remember correctly Moonstone was not sold in Germany back in the day due to gore.

Yeah it was censored in a lot of countries back then, including France.
Ridiculous when you see what kind of games they are selling now.

I did not know that the game was banned from selected countries :-(
