Funny enough, because of the bank holidays for the Catholics, some 755.195 retired people here will not receive their pension in time (today), but instead on Wednesday the 3rd! Go figure... :picard

Me too at work today. Only Monday is free. Anyway life with work is hard but without is harder :D

Last time I worked on a B/H my pay made it worthwhile.
I dont mind working on them as long as I have a different day off

Every day is a bank holiday for me!

I really must get a job soon

Sorry for those who have to work today, I'm off Easter Egg shopping with the Missus :coffee:

I have many 30 year old computers, a couple of desktop computers a laptop, two netbooks and a tablet computer. All of them work on bank holidays.

And yet the Bank of Scotland has still failed to buy a computer system that will work on a bank holiday

I'm not at work this bank holiday.

This means, so far, I have re-grouted the bathroom tiles, new silicon sealant.
Tomorrow, I have to drive halfway across the country to collect a 4 ft fishtank Mrs Chinners has bought on the other bay.

Then I need to sort out some shelving for my "remaining crap", clean the car, probably end up re-grouting the kitchen whilst the bits are around...

I sometimes thing bank holidays need renaming.

Thank goodness we don't have a lawn :)

:help:

Well the company I work for deliver to all the lovely Primark stores up and down the country and as you know Primani just never close :( so no BH for me

I refuse to work bank holidays. I would state I am religious and it is against my religious belief to be working on a religious day. Other religions seem to be able to dictate religious beliefs as an excuse not to work or to restrict what they can do, so I think it is about time the English started to refuse to work on days that are official to the Church of England.

Am I religious? Nope! But if they want me to prove it, I attended my local church before I got married, and am about to again ready for my son to be christened.

LIKE!

lol

But seriously, I agree that its much better to be slightly overworked than be able to work and not have a job. Things are terrible in this country right now.

I work it all as a nurse. I am doing 12 hour night shifts and it sucks. My friends are all out drinking and every bank holiday I end up working.
