There Is A Reason For Every Miggy.

There Is A Reason For Every Miggy.

I still stand by what I said earlier, they are all good and I would not choose between them.

The A600 or A1200 are probably the best all round Amigas you can get today once they have been upgraded.

Using an A500 or the plus (to me at any rate) gives a more "purer" retro experience. There is just "something" about the 500s. I guess (as I have never tried one) that the A1000 would be the same.

The big box models are good too because of the amount of cool cards and other things you can fit to them to increase their awesome quotient.

Finally the CD32 and the CDTV have that "what the hell, I thought that was something else!" factor. That in itself is cool too!

If you were to ask me the opposite question, which is best, I would say it depends on the day and what I want to do miggywise. I quick game of UFO? Out comes the 1200. Do a bit of rendering or high end Amiga gaming? The 4000. I've got retro fever bad today. How about a game of good old Dungeon Master? The 500+. Xbox owning Friends coming round? Dig out the CD32 just to hack them off!

I love all my miggys!

OK, so which Amiga is the most mediocre? Not "worst" and not "best" either. The one that's just middle-of-the-road?

I suppose the most average system is the cdtv / a500 model

A500 has 512KB of CHIP as stock

CDTV has 1MB of CHIP as stock (as well as a semi-SCSI CDROM)

The lowest stock model would be the A1000, but it get away with it by being iconic!

so it befalls the rather weak A500

I would say A600 based on it's poor expandability. A few obscure accelerators and other silly cards just isn't enough :(

if i get time i'll do a chart with averages , percentages and such lol

Here ya go mate
