Closed WTB: A500 KS 1.3

Hello, I am looking to buy an A500 KS1.3, either NTSC or PAL please feel free to PM if anyone has one for sale.

I have a PAL Kickstart 1.3 that was removed from my A2000, someone on here can probably confirm if it will work on an A500. Yours for £5+P&P?

Andy, the ROM chip is pretty much universal: it will work in A500, 2000, CDTV and even on A600 (but on this one the IDE and PCMCIA not work with it attached). And ROM is PAL/NTSC "agnostic".

I think Melonsoda wants a full machine.

Anyway, to "transform" an A500 into PAL or NTSC is just a matter of moving a solder blob in the motherboard and swapping the base crystal (28.6363 for NTSC, 28.8375 for PAL).

is it worth ? why don't you upgrade to KS 3.1 ?

Kickstart 3.1 is good for getting modern stuff to run etc. But if the goal is to have a console-like computer where you insert a floppy and the game just works, nothing beats an A500 with kick 1.3. Kick 1.3 also added two important features from kick 1.2, autoboot support for harddrive expansions, and Fast File System support.
