hi everyone,

i have sent an email to amigakit but i might as well ask here. when purchasing from amigakit and being from Australia, which region do you choose on the first page, does it matter if i make a purchase from the US, UK or EU?

any Australians who purchased from amigakit can you advise please?

best regards,
Marcin

Use either site.

Or use the one that turns out cheapest after conversion... thats what I do.

I think the UK site includes VAT.

edit: Mediator 4000di

UK
£224.95(inc VAT) = $365.70AUD
US $299.00 = $316.40AUD

Now you could probably email them and ask them the price less VAT... wait for an answer etc... or just buy from the US site.

Use the UK site, when you go through Checkout, the VAT will automatically get removed from your order as you live in Australia.

Thank you for your custom!

nice, i did order few things from amigakit, best site and shipping ever! since I'm far far away

That's strange I've always been told to use the Euro site and I have done several times

I always use the UK site. I once tried the EU one, but Norwegian customs assumed the value was in GBP, so I ended up paying too much. I could have complained but then I would have to wait weeks to get the package.

I always see the prices ex vat, not just at checkout. Probably because my account has a Norwegian address.

Actually, no it doesnt... You have to go through and actually enter all your details including payment details before you are told what it will actually cost. At least with the US store you can work out what things will cost at a glance after a rough currency conversion.

What is VAT anyway? 15%? 25%?

edit: As Caius correctly mentioned above being logged in shows prices exVAT if you are from a country that doesnt pay VAT so it actually turns out cheaper than the US price.

Yes it does.

You cannot go through Checkout without being logged in. If you are logged in with a delivery address outside the EU, 20% VAT will be automatically removed.

Umm, yes you can. You have a screen asking if you want to log in, create an account or Skip and go directly to checkout.

Do you want to go straight to the checkout process?

Would like like to check out without creating a customer account? Please note that all of our services will not be available to customers that do not wish to create an account. Also, you cannot view the status of your order, and each time you shop with us you will have to re-enter all of your data.

Creating an account is free. If you still wish to continue to checkout please click the checkout button to your right.

Oh, I've been using the US site under the belief that the conversion rate works out in my favour... as T_Hairy_Bootson has pointed out, I was wrong.

Sure, given the how close the au and us dollar are I prefer to browse the US site but looks like my next purchase will be from the UK amigakit
