hey guys i am feeling a little crazy and want to change my cpu i currently have a core i7 920 DO stepping overclocked to 3.7ghz and 6gb of G skill DDR3 ram

and i am going to start doing some cad work and film encoding and editing do you think its worth upgrading my CPU to like a core i7 950 or 975 if i can find it at a decent price... and get 12gb of ram and a New graphic card like a 7950?

any advice is appreciated

does the rendering software support network rendering ?? might be cheaper build another slave i7 than get a few extra % out of what you have ??

lightwave use to support this back in the day on Amiga's

Hi,

Unless you can find a cheap 2nd hand 6core cpu there's nothing worth upgrading to..not even new ivybridge. Most i920's can be pushed to around 4ghz with a good cooler.
