With the Xbox one backwards compatibility to play Xbox 360 stuff. Is there anyone on here offering invites to the upgrade ? Just thought I'd ask.

Well, it looks like I wont be crushed in the stampede. The games I play aren't in the list yet.

I finally thought this might convince me to buy an Xbox One, but I looked on the list of "most popular selling" games being made available first and wondered where any of the best selling games were on the list.. I couldn't spot a single one. All complete rubbish.

I'm guessing the games will be running under emulation? Similar to original Xbox games on the 360? Hence the need to download them, and only being able to access those already added.

It is also annoying that if you add a game you own on original disc you have to have the disc in the drive to launch each game.

Here you can experience backwards compatibility in action in Mass Effect that's finally (almost) stable 30fps without screen tearing and texture popping and 2 seconds shorter loading times:

Isn't technology of the future wonderful?

Most likely, XO was PPC, XBONE is X86-64

Why? Just play the PC version. Increase all the graphic settings and it looks really good. Unlike console games most pc games were designed with settings most current systems can't run well, making the games look even better as you upgrade your hardware.

I really hate this seemingly new trend of commercial remakes. Just making the same games look a bit nicer with higher resolution textures and some cleaned up 3D models. They are still the same game otherwise. On the PC loads of games have seen this happen as free community player mods, with users recreating high Def textures. Now the industry is trying to cash in on this by re-releasing the games instead.

Remakes should only take place of me hardware can be used to achieve this the original game designers couldn't do due to hardware limitations, not just to make the same game look a bit nicer.

i've given up and can't afford the rat race anymore, I mean to get a game at its best is a £400 vga card with 4gb ram + the cost of the rest of the PC / monitor/s .I just can't justify that anymore.

I know Xbox One is not even close on spec's with a high end PC but the games are designed to run on the xbox one, quietly under your TV @ 1080p/60fps (yes not all games atm) for around £250 all in.

I have a very capable PC under my tv,water cooled i7, 16gb ram ssd etc etc. my current VGA 570GTX serves most games but I need to spend up to £400 on a better VGA, so I caved and bought an Xbox One for £250 with Halo masterchief + a Bluray Xmen Film. the PC is going and im sticking to easy play console stuff. when if PC's come down to a more affordable price/performance i might look again.
