Hello,

I've recently got a CD32 and I'd like to play the CDTV version of Xenon 2 on it. I've downloaded a copy, put it on CD and it loads fine. I get through the first half of level one ok and then Colin gets stuck loading when I get to the buy screen.

The weird thing is that the same iso works fine on my UAE emulator when I set it up as a CD32, so I don't think it's a duff copy of the game.

I've upped the laser power slightly as per a suggestion on another forum, but that hasn't worked.

Any ideas?

Cheers

It's a known issue (bug). Adjusting the laser won't help.

Best thing you can do is play the whdload version which has a bunch of memory leak/crash fixes and listen to the cd audio on your stereo in the background :)

Otherwise the bugs/crashes mean you are unlikely to finish the game :(

Hi there , tried it with some CD32 , but it will stuck for sure at some point , may it depends on the wrong Kickrom ( 3.1 instead of 1.3 ) ,
unfortunately a CD32 is not 100 % compatible to a CDTV .......... but it runs like a dream on an A500+ including Supra 28 and an A570 ;-)

Ah that's a pity. Maybe I'll have to track down an A570 for my Amiga 500!

Another thought I had was to play the Xenon 2 CDTV disk as an audio cd from MegaCD player via whdload from a workbench screen, then kicking off the CDTV whdload version from the same workbench. However when I do this the Amiga audio overrides the cd player and while I can see the cd audio being played via the disk activity light, it doesn't come out mixed with the game audio. Looks like I'm digging out a cd player for the hifi!
