So a few weeks ago I found my boxed Amiga collection had been water damaged due to a leak. Thankfully they are all ok but the once pristine boxes are now stuck to each other and are no longer in excellent condition.

Gutted as I am, I thought it may cheer me up to enquire how everybody else stores their Commodores (pictures if you like). Do you have them on display or do you horde them away?

Sorry to hear about the damage to your kit, I'm glad the hardware is ok!

All mine are on display but I cover them with dark dust covers when not in use.

Since you invited pics, I took these just now; this is exactly how they are setup at the moment!

Boxes (the few I have) are in the loft...

as you know Gazza me old fruit, it's all plugged in through a mass of jumbled cables, but every system is connected and used!

boxes are burnt and rf shields removed (LOLOLOLOL)

mine were in the loft in cardboard boxes and every storecuboard but now litter the spare room and some in the living room while i playing with tower and mediator with various cards.pics to follow

I should store things better but my Amigas and consoles are in either

the loft
the garage
or the spare room.

None of it is stored brilliantly. Although I have started using transparent large plastic boxes with lids which helps keep the contents safe from small leaks etc.

Unfortunatley I dont have a loft as such otherwise it would be Commodore haven :-)

I have my 1200 all rigged up to a projector and amplifier in the house so not really concerned about that but I was thinking of having a little table rigged up like Fitzsteve with a C128D, C64 and a monitor (all with RF shieding thank you Juv ) but it isnt going to fit anything else after that

I think it was SDG who put a picture on here of all her consoles all connected up on a shelf unit and I wouldnt mind doing something similar with my consoles so I could lift it up and move it if needed. I dont think a shelf full off connected amigas & peripherals would make sense or be or a reasonable form factor, and what would I do with the boxes.....arrrrggghhh

Juvs setup is also sweet he has everything hooked up Miggys, Consoles etc(without RF shielding - interferance all over the shop). Because I spend most of my time away from home with work I dont really have a dedicated space like he has.

<sigh>

I do have quite a bit of my gear out on display, and I use it quite regularly.
I've set up all my favourite consoles, hooked up to my CRT TV so that all I have to do is switch them on and not mess about around the back with cables.

from the bottom up...

N64, CD32, SNES
Xbox (modded XBMC), MegaDrive I, Gamecube, Master System
NES, PS2 (modded), Dreamcast
A couple of NAMCO joysticks, one c64 30-1 joystick
Tomytronic, Sky Fighters and Sky attack 3D LED games
GameGear.

I've got a load more games in the loft, and periodically swap them about.
I've also got, in the loft a MegaDrive II with MegaCD and 32x that I'm planning on squeezing in somewhere Alongside my Speccy +2 and C64. (Once I have some more shelving)
I've got boxes in the loft for the majority of this stuff and I also have quite a few extra systems up there too like my cpc6128 and Archimedes 3020.
On the other side of the room is my 1200PPC and my workspace that I periodically fill with whatever project I happen to have going on at the time.

I am seriously jealous :)

I love MegaCDs, I thought Sonic CD for it was an excellent game despite the meager scores it got back in the day from the review mags..

Top stuff

and suddenly I feel deflated... ;)

That is one seriously nice setup there.

Heh. Thanks, I've been working on it before about 10 years now.

Gazcbm - you look like Doc Brown from Back to the Future....

1 Amiga 500 boxed up
1 Amiga 500 ready for action
1 Amiga CDTV ready for action

Unfortunetly I only have a single bed so I can't sleep with my collection. If I had a double bed and a wife she'd be sleeping on the floor

I want to post mine but the area where my collection is at is always messy...I said this last time people were posting their collection too. This time I am going to do it when I get home. :)
