Zx spectrum 128k

I`ve decided to fix my 128k spectrum plus 2, now this time its got a black screen,
Now i`ve checked all the voltages around the mainboard and they all check out right, So i`m thinking its going to be the ram.

Now i have a atari xl 800 that does a memory check plus i`ve replaced the atari xl 800 mainboard with Dil chip sockets which means i can plug in memory chips from other machines and the Atari will do a self test and check the memory chips i plug in.

Now that being said i plugged in some of the memory chips i removed from the spectrum 128 and i got the same black screen that the spectrum 128 is giving,

Now what i need to know is this, can the atari xl800 ram chips be put into the zx spectrum 128 to test? Oh by the way i did a voltage check on the memory chips and got the correct voltage of 5volts straight across the series on both banks plus i`ve dil socketed all banks of ram on the zx spectrum 128 ready for plug and pray,

Problem solved it was the ram chips again, Thanks to my atari xl800 with its built in memory tester i was able to test all the chips i removed and found 3 faulty ram chips in the spectrum 128.

I never thought of using the xl800 to test Spectum RAM chips, guess what I will be doing with my non-working Spectrum tonight
