The cd drive won't automount anymore, so I just added a button to Dopus to mount it when I need it.
I wanted to attach some thermometers to the CPU and PSU heatsinks, so I could monitor those temperatures with the case closed, but haven't done that yet.
ACA620, with heatsink, overclocked to 25Mhz.
Internal slot load CD Rom drive.
A604 and Indivision ECS.
Internal DC-DC PSU (will happily do 5volts at 5amps, 12volts at 2amps)
4gb compact flash card.
Still has the original floppy drive too!
Lol, I was about to comment on how much of a hack job it was, and that if it was at least done well, I could see it having potential..
I guess people have different standards..
I'm happy to recap them for you, for a reasonable price ;)
If you're interested, figure out what size box they'll both fit in to see what postage will cost, and we'll go from there.
I'm in Adelaide, but I'm more than capable of doing the repairs ;)
How many Game Gears do you have that need fixing? do all display the same issues?
A lot of people don't seem to replace the capacitors on the power supply board, but I've always found them to be bad too, even though they don't...
You can probably get the pins hot enough to melt their way through the plastic as you pull them... assuming they don't just easily pull out...
However, be careful, as it looks like you've half munted a few of the pads already :P
Nah! just cut one of the corners off the plastic base of each capacitor ;) (for the new capacitors) For the old capacitors, I just melted the plastic on them as I approached the solder joint..
I'll grab a photo of mine later.
I'm considering swapping the lid off this N64 onto my PAL unit, so it has an s-video socket and rcas, then modifying the NTSC console to have an RGB socket instead ;)
I don't know why I decided to add svideo to the NTSC console... I knew they supported rgb out, while the PAL consoles don't...
