    How not to code a game on the C64

    I think this guy deserves a medal. And a swift kick in the pants. http://indiegames.com/2013/05/1983_in_2013_ponk_for_c64_post.html

    ZorRAM vs BigRAMPlus

    I think that the ZorRAM leaves enough space to utilize the in-line ISA slot, assuming you have a bridgeboard and this is important to you.

    scsi: 50pin -> 68pin

    What has worked well for me is: Motherboard -> 50 to 68 pin adapter -( connected to the motherboard) > 68 pin cable -> 68 pin drives -> 68 pin active terminator.

    Love the SID

    I think the problem with the C64 is that it only supported 16 colors. If it had supported an increased palette and number of colors on screen (like the Atari), then this would have helped make up for the decreased resolution.

    AdIDE from ICD

    I don't know what was causing the flakiness exactly. Last time the A500 locked up with or without the SupraRAM 500rx. And now it works fine with the 500rx connected. Which is just as well as the 512kb trapdoor expansion is no longer working so only 1.5MB chip would be available without the...

    CD32 Paravision SX-1 with CF Adapter and DOM

    OK..... DON"T connect the CF adapter as I have in the pictures, as it is backwards. Luckily, I didn't fry anything. May very well be why the DOM isn't working either. I didn't realize that the horizontal DOMs are available in left and right configurations depending on the orientation of the...

    CD32 Paravision SX-1 with CF Adapter and DOM

    Well, I tried it. I powered on the CD32. No blue smoke. Hopefully it is a mistake on the DOM itself. But, I still have a problem. HDToolbox detects the drive as 1GB, and reads in the head/sector/cylinder values. I create two partitions ADH0 and ADH1 as 100MB and 875MB respectively, and...

    CD32 Paravision SX-1 with CF Adapter and DOM

    Just noticed something that concerns me... #1/#2: Please examine the numbering for pins 43 and 44 on the top left of the DOM, and on the SX-1 motherboard...... The rows are reversed!!!!! Is this a manufacturing mistake on the DOM? The DOM cannot be installed the other way around as then DOM...

    CD32 Paravision SX-1 with CF Adapter and DOM

    I decided to create a slideshow so that anyone with an SX-1 can see the difference between an IDE DOM (Disk On Module), and a CF Adapter. #1: The size is quite apparent. Top left is the horizontal DOM (1GB capacity), in the middle is an IDE riser from Amigakit, and bottom right is the CF in the...

    AdIDE from ICD

    Pics attached. #1 shows the board ICD AdIDE itself. #2 shows the 68010, with Kickstart 3.1 installed. #3 shows the cable plugged into the AdIDE. You can also see a DCE Mini Megi 2MB Chip RAM expansion. I think this is the PAL version, turning my NTSC A500 into something that God intended. #4...
