CDROM and Front Panel Recap done, all initial problems fixed, non spinning CDROM and weak IR fixed. Note there is a hidden capacitor inside the shielding for the IR on the front panel. Its a pain to get into as you have to bend the metal shield open to replace the capacitor. I have also fixed...

While recapping the CDROM I realised that C205, C218 and C208 are all NON POLAR Electrolytic Capacitors. I have updated the initial post/list and will return to the electronics store soon!

Just a generic USB PC keyboard at the moment, I went down this route with the USB adapter as CDTV keyboards seem to be rare and expensive, probably due to people taking the black keys for their A500s in the past. I take it this module isn't open source at all?
