The wire only needed in DCR (metal cased) computers.
The screws may be a little bit big, but usually the adapter makes good contact even if the screws are not removed.
This is the last one of the adapters for sale.
AT128 is a PC AT or PS/2 keyboard to Commodore 128D/DCR* adapter.
Compatible with any speed of keyboard with scan mode 2 as default**. (DIN type can be used with regular DIN->PS/2 adapters)
*C128DCRs require a wire to be installed for this adapter to work (+5V from C71 to pin4 of the keyboard...

A lot have been changed and improved, and still improving. The "zero batch" is out (thanks everyone who bought them), now a bit cleaned version is in the making (waiting for...
Now I use round ~0.65mm diameter pin-headers. These can fit in a precision IC socket.
i haven't measured that, but the new SwinSID with the additional ICs consumes about 100mA @ 5V if the LEDs are off.
Please be patient my friend, the new design is really close to be finalized. It will has support for almost every old and new music/games (precise noise calculation, readable registers, etc...)
It will cost a bit more however... sorry, but there are a lot more components involved and a lot of...
