Will the "Porsche Design" myth ever die, I wonder?!

    What happened to this hobby?

Greed is everywhere. I bought an item as a "Buy It Now" on a well-known auction site. The price was very, very good! I was so happy to get such a bargain in these less bargainy times. The seller mailed, telling me that someone had offered 3x what I paid, and asked the seller to cancel the...

Closed Spectrum +3 with Z80 IDE and Stack of Original Disk Games

You would actually report someone to a mod if you didn't like their offer? Bizarre.

Hi from Australia - I miss my Amiga !! :(

It might seem like there are loads of Amigas here in the UK, but most of them are owned by the same 3 eBay sellers :D:blink::roll:

    Anyone Downgrading Windows ?

I guess it's because so many are moving to tablets, I think you can roll it back to a more desktop oriented appearance though I confess I've still not used it! I am a stubborn upgrader and I still have to run a lot of my preferred '98 / XP software in VWWare

    Sinclair hardware help needed

What display are you using with them? A proper CRT for the ZX80/1? (Edit: I see you mentioned a modern TV... but I would try and source an old analog CRT TV before deciding they are faulty :-) ) - My ZX80 and ZX81 look like complete rubbish on anything other than an old analog tuning TV - I...

    Closed C64 breadbin case stickers

I guess you could use the serial number of the board inside (if it has one), thus maintaining some originality without potentially duplicating someone else's. Failing that, add a leading number or letter, in the same way that European Commodore PETs all had a 1 in front of the serial?

BBC Micro Model B SD Card/Flash Card Solution ?

If you're able to do very basic soldering / can get an EPROM programmed, you can solder a 99p Arduino Micro SD card reader, to a ribbon cable to connect to the user port. Tons of info here: http://www.stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1919&sid=9945f0ce1925127a1bfb428419694c32 There are...

    Closed C64 breadbin case stickers

I don't think retroleum sell actual foil warranty stickers unless I'm mistaken. Personally if I couldn't find one second hand I'd look for a short-run sticker manufacturer who could do a one off. Unfortunately many insist on short run of at least 10 (not much use if producing a serial number!)...

    UNIX hardware?

Whilst Unix hardware is interesting and important in computing history, I think the lack of overall popularity (with notable exceptions) comes down to the old chestnut: Not Many Games :D I mean I've owned the same hardware used to create some of the CGI in T2 / Jurrassic Park, yet when I...
