Three adapters received, testet one with a Benq BL912, works, hardly any banding after setting pixel clock to 87. Build quality seems fine to me. Thanks :)

Adapter received, works, in fact I'm typing this from my A1200 connected to a BL702A via the adapter.

Since I'm probably the only fool here who has both amigoun's adapter AND a Commodore adapter due to forgetting about having the latter, I can provide a rough comparison, although there isn't really much to compare: the output, with my VGA cable that I believe to be of high quality, is very similar with both adapters, though possibly a little better with Amigoun's one than with the Commodore one: I am not fully certain, but I think I see a slightly blacker black, and less interference during the black PAL screen while the startup-sequence executes.

By the way, I have another tip for BL702A (and presumably S912) owners: even though the OSD only allows setting the *maximum* values for red, green and blue, settings for the *minimum* values (i.e. the black point, which some people in this thread have complained about being set too low for the Amiga) are also available, just they have to be accessed via the DDC interface. For Linux users, I recommend getting DDCControl or GDDCControl to accomplish that: it will work as root once the i2c-dev module is loaded (I mean on a PC, since the Amiga has no DDC abilities, even if you run Linux on it).

I have also made a screenmode based on Euro72:Productivity that tries to get the video as close to 720x576 as possible, as that's a resolution that the BL702A supports directly ("Information" in the OSD will display exactly 720x576@50): it's basically PAL but at 31.5kHz, or in other words, a DblPAL that this monitor will actually interpret as such.
However, I have not been able to extend the screen horizontally to 720, so there are still two visible vertical black bands at the edges, and there is also the typical artifact of the mouse pointer sprite disappearing towards the right edge of the screen.
DblPAL itself can overscan all the way to 720 horizontally (but it gets recognized as 1024 by the monitor, which makes it look awful), so I'm hopeful this can be fixed, but I am far from an expert at monitor editing; perhaps others can help. This monitor .info file I'm attaching needs to be used with MIPrefs from MonSpecsMUI running, and I also haven't tried using it without VGAOnly installed.

Finally, a WARNING for Benq users: be careful with interlaced resolutions, especially ones with a fast vertical refresh rate!I used the ScreenMode prefs to display something like 640x924 at as high of a refresh rate as I could get from MonSpecsMUI, and when the preferences showed its test picture, the four areas with alternating black-and-white lines flashed a lot; when the test picture went away, those area were STILL faintly flashing, and after that subsided, I noticed I had one dead pixel! :-(It's not simply stuck, as I've tried unsticking the pixel with the standard method, with no luck. So, since "extreme" interlaced modes like that aren't practically useful anyway... my suggestion is, don't try!

@LjL: Thanks for all the tips about the BenQ. I will later add them to the first post, so that people can find them easy and not need to read the whole thread :)

Hi,last yaer buy vga cable,I want AOC I960SRDA has anyone tested this?

Declaring interest in 1x white cable (23pin conn and metal coated case with H/V or C-Sync Switch) and
1x black cable (23pin conn and plastic case)

@ a.mi.goun

I would be interested in another one but first I have to ask which one is the best for my below situation and if it works:

I have an LG LX9500 55'' television which my CDTV is connected into. Unfortunately connecting the CDTV with composite input, the picture is not clear and blurry (as RGB colors are mixed up). The second move was to connect the CDTV with the CDTV-SCART module. Here comes a second problem. The screen just flashes all the time (appears and disappears every second), therefore it's impossible to watch it! Although it works in my bedroom's LG 32" TV and the picture is crystal clear (SCART connection of course), it seems that LG LX9500 has a problem (although it states that the SCART is RGB) or it cannot sync properly (?). Either way, I was thinking about connecting my CDTV with one of your cables to the VGA input of the TV. Will this work, and if yes, which cable do you recommend in such situation?

Have you tried to connect a CDTV via television's VGA input before?

@J.T.Kirk: Yes, the best way it to try to connect CDTV RGB Video output to the TV VGA input to see if it accept 15kHz. If not, you will need to use the RGB-SCART cable. The syncing problems of your LG 55" you mentioned may require some SCART cable tweaking (I would start playing with few different resistor values at csync).

Thanks for the reply. Will try to connect the CDTV with the cable I have bought from you, which is connected to my A1200, and let you know. If it works, chances are that I will need another one as well.

But that aside, since I do have the Benq BL702A I ordered here, hoping others didn't already mention this (this thread is way too long for humans): you can enter the monitor's service menu by keeping Menu pressed while powering it on, then pressing Menu again. It is a very barebones service menu, but it does have two toggles that should be useful for Amigas: you can disable the power-on Benq logo, which is just not useful, and you can disable the pop-up thing that tells you which recommended resolution you should use with the monitor (since 1280x1024 is not a resolution you can use with the Amiga chipset, anyway).

Thanks for the hint about service menu. Although disabling the logo isn't so important, to get rid of the pop up requester about the optimum resolution everytime you switch to another resolution and vice versa is a must.

Cables arrived, will test them tonight! Thanks!

Few tips about BenQ BL* monitors that user LjL shared with us (thanks!) now linked from the first post.
