4000 clock not working after battery change

I just replaced my leaking battery on my 4k mobo. I cleaned up the leakage around the battery. All good.

But the computer still does not report a realtime clock. Is there anything else I could check? I have both oscilloscope and multimeter and a degree in electronics way way back The just got the mobo so I did not check if the clock worked before the changeicard

I'm thinking if I could check for a clock pulse somewhere or any other logic.

yes, you could check that the 32kHz oscillator works with your scope..

otherwise, check continuity around the clock area..

could also be the ricoh chip itself that has packed up..

I think so as well Luckely I have a spare 4k Mobo so I could switch. 2 bad the current mobo is in a tower, takes for ever to "release" the mobo oh:

Search on sales forum, someone here sells that ricoh RTC chips.
