what you think ?

in one month I will solder my new adapter 040>060 A3640 with LC060 cpu and I must be ready to all problems

ive got the lc install disk for that card somewhere...

dont know if itll work, someone else can confirm.

i dont use lc/ec cpus.

I found your old thread with the same problem and there was apollo060.dms with 060noFPU speciall library
I downloaded this file , and waiting for spares parts to 040 > 060 assembly

I did use the A3640 with an LC060 for a time until I found a full 060 with FPU to replace it. It worked fine, though the lack of 32 Bit Fast-RAM makes it feel much slower than it is. The lack of the FPU isn't a big deal until you find yourself wanting to run software which requires it, like an MP3 player. I couldn't get the mpega.library-no-fpu library working on it, but I didn't try very hard at it. That being said, the 060 adapter will speed up your machine quite a bit. Most LC060s will run at 66mhz with no problem and run much cooler. I posted a benchmark on this page showing the A3640 with LC060 adapter somewhere around 2-3 times faster in Mac emulation than a 25mhz 040.

I would highly recommend finding someone to perform Speedgeek's 68030 State machine mod to your A3640. It involves replacing or reprogramming five chips on the A3640 card and significantly improves the speed. Alternately performing Meutoxo's 64MB RAM modification to your motherboard is also a great idea.

was this without a modified kickstart? as far as I understood, you need a modified kickstart to get the system to boot with anything but an EC060.

Yes you are correct it was with a modified Kickstart. As stated elsewhere the patched exec.library from Speedgeek/Cosmos may work by loading with Kickflash/Deneb/Other ROM module loading hardware, I haven't tested this myself.
