I was at work yesterday and I had been working hard that morning, getting a waste consignment ready for shipping.
At about 2pm, I walked from the Lab Block to the Admin Block, a distance of about 50 feet. As I walked, I felt 'cold to the bone' and came up in goosebumps and felt generally rough. I was shivering and I thought my blood sugars might have gone a bit low so I had some sugary water (blechh) and a biscuit.
I left work at 3pm and had a bath when I got home, as I was pretty mucky from the day's work. I then went to bed as I didn't feel well at all.
I asked my son Paul to fetch the digital thermometer and according to the readout my temperature was 38.8 degrees!!
My pulse was 130 and I really did feel crap. I was considering calling the Doctor out but all I really wanted to do was sleep.
By the evening my sugar level was 8 (normal) and I couldn't face anything to eat, so I have basically slept through until about 9am this morning. I still feel a bit dizzy, washed out and hot but I feel better than I did late yesterday.
