Greetings,
I have some basic questions on ZIP-memory related to the A3000.

I recently got hold of 16 pieces of ZIP-ram chips, Toshiba TC51440AZ-60 which I have googled around and found that a few other Amiga 3000 owners use and they seem to be fine.
However I received them today and installed them filling bank 0 and 1 according to this picture: http://www.titan.co.nz/amigaak/images/3000-motherboard.gif

Now upon booting I won't get any RAM at all out of them.

Since the chips have more text upon them, mine says 0730HCK in the top right corner I suppose that has something to do with it.

Most sellers of ZIP-ram does not specify those numbers in the ad, you have to look upon the picture. And by looking at the data sheet (http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/T/C/5/1/TC514400AZ-60.shtml) I cannot really find any difference either.

So - anyone who could help me out with what I am missing?

The picture doesn't show the banks. I bet you simple don't have them in Bank zero and one.

Make sure that you read the motherboard and start at the lowest number and increment by 2 (I think), it will be every fourth connector is part of bank zero.

Use a flash light to confirm that each leg is in the middle of the connector.

Sorry, I linked the wrong picture.

Anyway - a few hours ago (have been out travelling so no Amiga-time for a few days) I discovered my mistake: since I had changed the size of chips I hadn't updated the jumper setting in J852. So this thread is now obsolete.

Thank you for your help Matt3k!
