Excellent

So, Prometheus with prometheus.library v2.5 can handle DMA devices like Sound Blaster audio card? Have you make some tests?

Regards,

Rino

The search function would have saved you some time. :-D

I used my voodoo card the furthest away from the zorro slots and that worked great, the card with the memory should always be on the end of the prometheus if you would like to use other cards in it. The way you are using it now never worked for me :-)

i'll go out on a limb here and say simply,it wont work on a 060 cpu.

Awesome project Steve!

I have a question. How come you are going to paint the yellowed plastic front instead of using retrobrite?

Hey guys!

This project is coming together nicely now :D

A little update for you...

I hope to be able to keep the Graphics Card internally as I have bought some adapters, I'll update on that once they arrive.

For now I have added a FDD and FDD/CD Cage, so will add an optical drive too soon. I have given the front panel one retr0bright session, it's not perfect so maybe when the Sun comes back I'll finish it, but he it's looking much better

Some more good news, I finally got MacOS running via ShapeShifter with the ZorRam in place, still a little slow without local CPU Fast Ram but runs nice with the RTG

Video to come when I get some more time! :ninja:

Well this a bit of a hollow project update really since these bits are currently up for sale to fund real life, however the adapters I've been waiting for from China have finally arrived so it's only fair to share the pics with ya'll :)

I got an angle adapter for the PCI slot so I can lay the VGA card flat and an extended ribbon cable so I can mount the VGA connector neatly at the rear of the case.

Here is is with the Voodoo installed:

And as you can see working great!

It still wouldn't be possible to close the case due to the size of the Voodoo however with a smaller card such as this S3 Virge based card it's totally possible to fit this all internally

And again, working a treat! The Prometheus is very cleaver, you don't even need to change any drivers :o

Currently this solution wouldn't allow for fitting a NIC, but maybe possible with some other kind of riser :)

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the update which will probably be the last one for this project :(

Your project work is great stuff Steve, I hope you can keep on doing stuff like this for us all to see :)

Thanks!

Of course once I get a job and don't have to sell my stuff anymore I certainly hope to dabble in future projects :D

Ok then, one more update :D

Just to see if the case will close

VGA connector modified slightly to mount on the back plane and installed:

Now you can connect the monitor in the traditional way!

Case closed!

And yeah, of course it works

Ideally I would have used a proper A4000 PSU then the power switch would work as intended, I didn't get any joy yet in my wanted thread but I don't know if you've seen I'm selling some of the parts from this project now so it wont be completed :(

couldnt it be modified in some way to work with the plastic button on the case?

no mate,i didnt see the wanted thread sorry.
