It disappeared after a few hours. This has been going on for about 3 or more months: first it is up and then poof! It is gone, only to return later.

He is back today- another ebay store.Yes, I have reported it.

Is he possibly removing the auctions before he gets stung for Paypal fees?

If so, then (hypothetically speaking, of course) another nefarious person might equally set up a dodgy account and offer a reuly ROFLAMO price for his 'tower' so that he gets stung for the LOLPaypal fee linked to the ROFLMAO price.

Can anyone who has received an e-mail from this person or persons offering this 'tower' please check the header details from the e-mails sent to them and if there is an originating IP address, do a WHOIS on the IP, so that we maybe get a clue where this 'seller' actually is? Alternatively, PM the IP address to me and I'll see what 'Merlock Holmes' has to say about it.

Merlock tells me that there were several Gregory Parkers in Surprise () Arizona, but they were all deceased; maybe that was what put the 'Surprise' in the location...

Hmm...

The IP from the mail header definitely links to a mailcore server address located in Leeds. The ISP is Webfusion who have an office in Leeds.

Someone has gone to the trouble of setting up a mail server and Project Honeypot says that the IP address has been used for the usual 'Meds and Lonely Women' scammer mails in the last 30 days.

If you look at the other items the seller offers you'll see that they have all been uploaded with a few minutes of each other... Plus they're all items which seem to have been picked for their uniqueness... I would suggest that this person aquires phished eBay accounts does an auto upload of the same batch of goods then asked people to use the alternative email address (so the real owner is in the dark) for obvious reasons....

Had a quick look, this is very complex,

accounts look like made 2010+ x 1000's
each account gives fake positive feed back to each other (complex bit)
as you look at the account giving feedback to each other you can see the pattern of responses and times dates.
most if not all the accounts giving the feedback have done so within the last 12 months.

this is a MASSIVE scam and will continue unless Ebay can trace ALL the accounts giving false feedback to each other I reckon a FAIR few, all he/she has to do is re-upload the bogus items for sale which also does not just inlcude the Amiga 4000T, there are other items that dont exist also.

Stuff like this really cracks me up, thieves are so f***ing stupid. Do they not realise that rather than wasting a few months trying to pull off a $2000 scam, they could - shock horror - WORK for a few months and earn a lot MORE than $2000? Did nobody tell them that before they stopped going to school?

Honestly, when I hear about 99% of crimes, it just makes me think who would be idiotic enough to think that's a better way of making money than just getting a job. I can kind of understand the motives behind a diamond heist or bank robbery, but petty crime? Pathetic!

That's my usual line on the matter. I occasionally look at some idiotic criminal and think "I could pull off that crime so much better", then I remember that I'm sufficiently smart to know that I could do even better and not commit crime in the first place.

The worst thing is, even though I know this is a scam, I still want to buy the damn machine because the 4000T is so cool!!

What's wrong with me?!?!

on the other hand .....id probably leave my wallet or phone at the scene of a crime.

or bump in to someone i know and say hello..

as i quickly escaped with a bag of swag (or the car wouldnt start outside the back and id phone the AA)

hence - i dont bother.

We need a 'George Agdgdgwngo' to make a bid for this tower that the scammer can't refuse...

Even the feedback profile looks legit.

I did ask him questions::D

I told him I'd give him $1500 cash and he told me to **** off. So then just to see what would happen, I said I'd use buy it now and pay $2000, then 3 days latter he sends me a link to link our ebay accounts.
