Howdy Folks!

As usual I've been tinkering with an Amiga on my day off

I agreed a deal with ITU for a Mirage Pro & Mediator 4000D and as always sharing the fun with my Ami-friends :grouphug:

Here's the case, pretty much like new:

Not the prettiest of chassis I know, but much easier to work on than an A4000T which is what this will eventually replace (well one of them :p)

And some goodies to go inside:

Just like the old Pwer Tower there is a removable side tray you mount the Motherboard on:

I'm using a RevD Motherboard in this project, this one has the built in EC030 which is pretty handy if you don't have your accelerator to hand, or if it's away being repaired

The Mediator Busboard is mounted on top, it has 5 PCI and 6 Zorro Slots, oh and a Video slot too...

And mounted in the Tower:

350w PSU fitted as I plan to fill this case up :D

Some PCI Cards going in!

And hopefully a couple of Zorro Cards too :ninja:

Cards seem to fit pretty well inside, plenty of space and room for air flow:

As it happens, I think you need an MMU for the Mediator to work, I couldn't get it booting with the Mediator Driver so I had to borrow a Turbo Board from another Amiga, just until my CSPPC comes back - then we really have some fun

After a little messing around, everything except USB is working, I'll have to read through some threads to find out what I'm doing wrong :coffee:

To be continued...

Hi Steve,

Another great setup my friend, looks really very good.

Waiting for more updates :p

Luverly.

But did you really mean Amifiends or Amifriends?

try top slot mate

Dosen't it need to be in a slot below the Voodoo? I thought Voodoo was meant to be in top slot?

I just tried UP2.0c and it let me add spider.device 2 okay and then is crashed when I tried to add 1

Will try top slot...

I tried the top slot, but the Voodoo wont work if I have that in a slot below the USB card as I susspected.

I managed to add spider.device 2 (but no USB ports seemed to work) if I add 0 or 1 it just resets the A4000, I tried all the other 4 slots...

I'll test the SpiderII in my A1200 and see if it will work in there :coffee:

If there is a DMA option enabled in USB prefs, try turning it off. Elbox DMA is a fudge-up....

I'm not sure, I'll have to check. But yeah I heard there are DMA issues with the Mediators.

FWIW I did just try the SpiderII in my A1200T which has a Mediator1200SX and that wont even boot with the Spider attached :coffee:

I wonder of it's horse and trucked?

@Johnim - can I send it to you to test? OFC I'll pay P&P both ways

Hikey is officially a Legend, got my CSPPC back today and it's working perfect

I've installed it in the A4000D and she booted first time & seems 100% stable

First PPC app tests worked perfect so I installed Warp3D and configured, QuakeII runs great :ninja:
