Once the front cover is on the only difference is the case is solid and there is no gap where the lid fits to the case. For me there are only positives but others may not feel this way.
I can imagine engineering having these at west Chester (which they did) and then the production cases turning up
I don’t think the cost difference would be much at all. I will look to making a sample case tomorrow, a lot of the work I’ve already done transfers over.
Nice! Like @Mordo I'm keen to consider a CBM style bezel swap for my Escom/AT A4000T. Would you be able to design in the round clip attachments to the new bezel to accommodate us? I forget how they attach to the plastics.

OK time for some painting and assembly of the prototype. The colour is not a match of the final product, it is a little too white to match the original cases. The texture is close to the case I have and the Escom / Amiga Technologies Cases. There is not a plan to paint the inside of the final cases, in this instance it was just easier but more costly and more time consuming
Testing was done with an Escom/Amiga Tech Bezel. The aim is for the Commodore version like below....
I think this is amazing and can only imagine the blood sweat and tears into something like this. Cant imagine this will be cheap but i think its 10000% worth it please put me down for one when they are ready - The attention to detail is really pukka.
As suggestions
Would others also agree if the front face could at least be painted too? would be a nice stop gap for those who dont have bezels yet.
Also if you make some painted 5.25 bay covers then that would be fabulous.
The top switch panel, could you make something up in painted metal?
The floppy disk module has the option to connect a fly lead / DB port - this would provide external floppy as these were always missing. The DB could either go to a PCI bracket OR you could make a hole at the back and leave a blanker?
Gold go faster stripes - like the original?
Side window option to show the guts
Honeycomb expansion port/pci covers
What is your master plan for the internal speaker?
Not a suggestion but an observation, the fitment looks better than the escom crap for sure!
@Ordyne - is the PSU fan on top or bottom of the PSU? If top, then i'd wonder about creating an extraction fan mount here:
Also, the A4000D has an "expansion" knock-out on the back of the case which there's a few peripherals or brackets made for. Might be nice to provide one of those on here as well, for compatibility?
