Mount an ATX modern new one, reverse the fan cause I guarantee you it will blow inwards and use an ATX to AT adapter, there should be enough of those around :ROFLMAO:

Surely the first option is going to be a replica in oyster white? I don't think interest has been seriously gauged yet has it? This is more niche than the Checkmate case and an A4000 desktop case in my opinion. You could always spray paint it black?

Would you trust a new AT PSU from China?

Hell no!
Like I said, just buy one of the good brands and use a well made ATX to AT adapter.
Why tempt faith on a 4000T motherboard ?
Mine is going to be build from scratch and thus new, so it will have a nice Corsair in there.

A black case is something I prefer, not a fan of white/beige cases anyway, the darker, the beter ;)

Yeah, and what about the keyboard and peripherals which are all beige! Save black for CDTV/CD32 IMHO!

About that AT PSU from China, i have read reviews from users on the internet and while it seems to work fine for some people, there are lot of reports of DOA or PSU failing in a few weeks. Probably not fine for a computer as rare as the A4000T.

On the subject of colors, i think white will be nice for a Commodore/Elbox mobo and black would be great for Hese's TX mobo.
It is possible to make/print black keyboard cases without canibalism of a CDTV keyboard nowadays.

There has been so many CDTV keyboards destroyed in the past for their black keycaps. There was a time when one could find spare CDTV keyboards easily (at least in France) because Commodore produced a lot of them, way more than CDTV units, but now they are rare and should be reserved for the CDTV.

A.mi.goun certainly makes a fine ATX to AT adapter but i am never confortable with an ATX PSU because of the regulation on the +12V and the lack of -5V (for the ISA slots if not needed by the Amiga side). The well known SF450 PSU for instance don't activate its fan in an A4000D because of the insufficient load and even worst, the A2386 can't work with this PSU, it does not boot at all but works perfect with the genuine A4000 PSU. Something must me missing from the SF450.
As far as i know, iComp is working on a big box Amiga PSU for a couple of years and it will probably be better than ATX stuff.

IIRC, A4000 does not need -5V rail, it is barely needed and it gets it via DC converter from -12V. Which does not remove all other issues with atypical load. BeQuite PSUs do always turn on the fan, btw.

I just seen Stephen Jones say he wants to make an Amiga Tower case... Better than any other case..as in flexibility... with a "nod" to previous towers, but he's talking tempered glass doors, so NOT a repro case. He may be talking about it at Amiga 40th in Germany..

OK, now the latest batch of A4000D cases are leaving the building I can get back to this.

With perfect timing Randell Jesup sent me a care package to help out……

Yes that’s an engineering prototype CBM A4000T front cover

I made a steel box for Randell to ship this over to the UK, he really has come through for us to make this dream come alive. This is the original design idea which IMO is better than the one Commodore put into the very short run they did.

Now I can copy the CAD information and fill in the gaps with the actual item. We can also ad in the original design notes 1:1 now this is in hand.

I hope you are excited as I am :D
@Ordyne

So is recreating this possible? A new complete case set would be ideal (depending on the price). But I am at least interested in the C= prototype plastic bezel, door and feet! What is the way forward? Kickstarter, Patreon? What do you think the costs will be? I guess you need to fund the moulds first? Long term project?

Hi All,

I am slowly building a tbtorro A4000T+modules, and was hoping to get some help on where c310A and C310F are located please, I can not find them on the AV Board? According to the public BOM they should be on the top of the AV Board?

Thank you!

Hello.
As luck would have it, i came into possession of an original Commodore A 4000t which is missing its cover and also the front.
While looking for alternatives or parts i stumbled upon this project.

Call me interested in a full set of tower and bezel.
I would be glad if i could get this thing back to former glory.
