A500 + TF536 Problem - HELP!

So my A500 consists of the following -
Rev.6a motherboard
512k Ram expansion in the trapdoor slot
Kickstart 3.1 (40.063)
TF536 (68030, 50mhz, 64mb fast ram)

So here how it went....

1. Swapped out kickstart 1.3 ROM for 3.1 ROM). No problems.
2. Removed CPU to fit riser and the TF536. No problems
The CF card in the TF536 has Workbench 3.9 and an almost complete set of whdload games so the image expects a 3.1 ROM to be installed for best experience. (See step 1).
3. Powered on Amiga.
4. Red led on CF card reader (so I know power is getting to it.)
5. Just a black screen displayed. Kept the power on for 30 minutes but nothing happens.

I'm stuck and don't know what to do next.

I had the same symptoms with an A500 and TF534, when turned on i just got a black screen that never went anywhere and the led on the CF adapter was permanently lit up. Turned out i had the IDE cable plugged in backward. Didn't do any harm and worked fine when i reversed it. Post a pic of the CF hooked up to the TF536 and lets have a look

One thing I'm really struggling with is the adapter for the TF536. I get it in one end of the socket and then push it in at the other end of the socket but by doing this the opposite end pops out, so I tried to do both ends together and still have the same problem.
