Thanks everyone. I believe I have now replied individually to all who expressed interest and have marked down everyone for shipment in order of payments received. I have made the biggest order of keyswitches and PCBs I have ever done, and await the offers of first-class flights and factory tours that will surely be coming my way. 🤣 Also my 3D printer is running non-stop so that as soon as the other parts are delivered I'll be able to build.

BTW clicky blue switch A600 keyboard is still available! I really though that would be gone very quickly.

I have replied to everyone that has expressed interest and most everyone has paid.

Steveed has sent me a few sets of A1200 and A600 keycaps, same as shown in his thread, idea being that if you want keycaps at the same time as the keyboard you won't pay extra shipping. Price is the same; US$150 A1200 set, US$120 A600 set, matching Amiga keys US$10. 3 sets of each available, let me know if you want a set added to your keyboard order.

A1200 gray set including Amiga keys #1 US$160
A1200 gray set including Amiga keys #2 US$160
A1200 gray set including Amiga keys #3 US$160
A600 gray set including Amiga keys #1 US$130
A600 gray set including Amiga keys #2 US$130
A600 gray set including Amiga keys #3 US$130

Keycaps are all sold or pending payment..

Response to these keyboards has been pretty amazing, thanks everyone. I'm pretty happy that there are going to be so many keyboards out there, and that there are so many people that care about their Amiga this way.

My 3D printer has been running non-stop! At this point there have been enough keyboards ordered that the first batch of switches I will receive will be completely exhausted. I just want everyone to know that this will mean roughly one month extra delay on any orders placed from this point on. I will have to order more switches and it takes that long for the factory to produce them and ship them out.

Did the thickness change for the v2 A600 keyboard PCB? I have two of the v1 keyboards fully built, but I'm wondering if there's enough of a reason to upgrade. Maybe I should just desolder the switches and replace with low profile gaterons?

Yes - I have specified 1.6mm standard PCB for these. The reason is that going to 2.0mm PCB adds about $20 each to the cost of each PCB, this was not the case a couple of years ago. Initially I decided to order 1.6mm while prototyping only but I found it was actually stiff enough, supported by the full-length claw at the bottom of the case top.

Unfortunately it is not possible to switch the KS-33 low-profile switches into the old PCB, as the footprint is different. Also it is essential to use a printed plate with these switches as they do not have the extra mounting pins (3-pin rather than 5-pin style) to locate them exactly.

The v2 keyboard is a little neater in appearance, and has the keycaps at a much better (lower) height with respect to the top of the case - it looks the height an Amiga keyboard should be, v1 is a little taller. It has the multi-color power led that provides caps lock function, and you don't need the separate LED circuit board. I personally prefer the low-profile banana switches to anything else on the market at this point. But there is nothing wrong with the first version of the keyboard, some people will prefer the full-height MX switches and they should stick with v1. They use the same keycaps so you could have both and switch between if you want.

Update on keyboard production
I had one batch of key switches and stabilizers on order, and hope to receive those by the end of the week. I ordered a second batch of key switches on the 30th as there were enough orders to use all of the switches in the first order. I have ordered more than enough PCBs for all orders and should receive those by about Tuesday. I have enough wire for all of the space bar stabilizers and the tooling to make bending those quick and accurate. I am halfway through making 18 A1200 aluminium extrusions, using all the metal I had on hand but I can get that from the local hardware so no delays anticipated. I have completed electronics (connectors, inverter, LEDs, resistors) on all of the PCBs I have on hand. FFC cables, LED cables, plastic rivets, are all ready to go. I have completed printing 16 A1200 plate and mount sets so far, a few more and will begin the A600 sets. The workbench is cleared and everything is clean and ready for production as parts arrive.

As keyboards are completed and sent out I will DM each individual and let you know that your order has shipped and provide a tracking number. It is still probably a couple of weeks away at this point though. I'll keep you updated here weekly.

Glad I asked! In that case I am interested in 2 x A600 keyboards, please.
