A600 more recapping !

Few hours left of the Holiday so what better way to relax than start recapping my just aquired A600, the smell of fish Yuk !

I have removed them all, cleaned the pads and pre tinned em ready for their new masters

Was it showing any signs of leaking caps (poor audio etc)?

Yes it was leaking from a few caps but I have caught it in time, I will say now anyone has not recapped their amigas I would do it sooner than later,I have seen some some horrendous CD32`s lately,they really do suffer leakage badly.

Yeah Taj It was just a bit picky on the sound and was fussy with a slow boot, will see how she fares after the recap.

** Board cleaning Tip**

Hi guys as you will already know the leakage of these caps and general condition of our boards are beginning to show, what I have found are these great Scour pads from Wilko, they are nylon based so no scratching, they do a really great Job.
Thought I would share.

I have a fair amount of Amiga's here in dire need of recapping!

I want them all done but can only afford this stuff in pairs at a time (yes I have a silly amount of A600 and A1200's here lol)

Had a bit of fun last night removing caps from scrap ic boards. Used the "Twist left to right" method with pliers. Once you get the knack they come off so easy and then your left with pads that just need a clean up.

My only problem is the correct soldering iron! I might try and do one board just to see how I fair on this. My soldering skills have vastly improved with the right kit.

But I am still leaning towards somebody who can do a much better job than I! Your thread is of great interest
