Hi

I have a pair of old slim-desktop pc towers and I'm planning to use one to convert my recently purchased A600 stuff in one system more affordable with PS2 style keyboard and space to fit internal DF0:, IndyECS, ACA630, etc....

I have all, but I need a keyboard adapter. Anyone knows about one adapter like this for A600's?

Thanks

Hi Pablo!

Elbox made PC-Key 600 but these are very rare, you could try their site but I've only ever seen one and it was one that I sold here about a year ago!

All the best,

Steve.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the info my friend. :thumbsup:

Bad news... OK, I will try with Elbox, but the last times I have lot of problems with this "Company"......:thumbsdown: and not solved for now.... I bought a Mirage Pro 4000 on November 30th 2010 and not yet dispatched/received. :mad:

One noob question :oops:... I know the difference between keyboards of A600/A1200 but.... one A1200 adapter can be work? or maybe damage the A600 mobo if I try to install?

Thanks again & Best wishes

Sorry you didn't get your Mirage Pro yet, that really sucks - I guess it takes some time though as I think the build to order. Hopefully you get it soon. I really want to order one of these one day. Its like my dream lol!

About the keyboard, the connector is totally different as its smaller on A600 (I guess it does not need all the stuff for the keypad)

All the best with your project :thumbsup:

Steve.

Do I have yours then? I swapped one with thau*** (don't remember) since I was thinking doing a tower a 600 wich I abadonend

No I do not recognise the swapper, I recognise his avatar from miles.. Yes mine works, but is useless, since I am not going to do a tower and the fan is in the way to fit it when top is of.

Since I swapped for a new a1200 version I can offer this at 50% vesalia price is 38eu /2 + shipping

Hmm. Now that's a really neat idea for a project. Mod an A600 into one of those small-footprint desktop PC cases. It'd make a really sweet almost-'big-box' Amiga.

Hi m8.

You're offering me one working A600 Keyboard to PS2 adapter? That's great. :bowdown:

I declare official interest to buy :thumbsup:

Is 19Euro + Shipping, right?

How much costs shipping to Madrid (Spain)?

@AndyLandy

Thanks for your kind words my friend. When I start the project I will update with pics & comments.

Yeah of course a working one, I tested it myself with a pc keyboard, it is still attached to it. It looks new

It could happen that it takes a few day's before I can ship. (I don't have every day time to ship)

Yes 19 + shipping is fine (since I swapped this for my new A1200 pc key I think this is fair)

I am sure 6.40 cuts the shipping. It is bubble envelope and some chees carton around it should arrive:D I can't do a pic, since the fan is hotglued to my a600 mobo. It worked 2 weeks ago, so..

I'd suggest you guys just open a new thread, probably merlinkv open a Wanted thread into which jvdbossc can post his offer.

@thread

Seems I got to the party a little late, but I am glad this has worked out well for those involved!

Now for those at home watching with the kiddies,

You can use the CLOCK and DATA from the Keyboard MPU on the A600 and with +5v and Ground create a simple 5pin DIN or 6 Pin MINIDIN pinout you can even plug in an A500 keyboard to the Clock, Data, +5v and Ground and it will work perfectly fine.

Although I should mention in the simple example above there is no keyboard reset. you can add this feature using a simple integrated circuit that that feeds the keyboard reset signal to the Keyboard MPU - although it is little more involved - that's the basic premise to use any Amiga compatible keyboard.

Now, as you all know - to use a PC keyboard on the Amiga you will need to convert the Data to an Amiga Standard - you can make your own using a small cheap AT8 chip and sundry components.

have a lookie here

The link provides a good tutorial to micro-controllers and programming with the end result being something great for your Amiga.

@Zetr0

Great info my friend. :thumbsup:

Thanks to jvdbossc I have now one keyboard adapter :) and when all items are collected I want to start this little project.

I'm arming of patiente because this slim cases I mentioned, need some hackery to adapt the A600 mobo & connectors. But with time :coffee:, and a good dremel, I think everything will be OK :).

Thanks to all & Best wishes
