I have recently inherited my childhood home and during clear out and renovation I found my old Amiga 500 Plus that I got in the late 80’s early 90’s for Xmas.

I’m looking to potentially sell it rather than throw it.

I’ve removed the battery to reduce acid erosion and there are no leads (that I’ve found up to now).

Would I be able to sell this for parts or as untested. What value do u put on it?

I also have the Phillips CM3388-II monitor that I got with it (again no leads) - again. What value would people advise?

Is it worth purchasing the leads? If so where from?

Thanks for any help given I really appreciate it.

Based UK.

Discussion of prices on AmiBay is strictly prohibited.
I'll send you a PM to have a clue about the price of your A500+.

Price discussions are forbidden in the open forum.

Yes it would be worth purchasing the cables for both the Monitor and Amiga, this would help you valuate. Just keep in mind that powering on a monitor does not necessarily mean it is 100% working, it may have issues that are not seen until you connect a source.

For the monitor you would need the power cable.

For the Amiga you would need a power supply and the RGB or Composite video cable to connect to the monitor. This particular monitor usually have both inputs. All cables can be obtained relatively cheap through various sellers here on Amibay or the other bay (eBay) and websites around the web.

Alternatively you can sell them untested. With a little bit of research you can establish a price you'd like and list them with offers. You would be under no obligation to accept the price offered. Any others received are then submitted via PM.

You also need to find suitable packaging for the monitor if shipping.

They can be listed in the following section of the forum. Good luck with whatever you decide (y)

Remember to have a read through the rules if not done so already. As a new member you would need to provide proof of ownership

No price discussions are allowed on this forum. But you can easily search the the sales archive (threads marked Sold) to have an idea about the value of your gear. Or even just search sold listings on the other Bay. To reiterate: NOT what things are listed for, but what they are sold for.

In general, you get more value out of your sale if you at least test your items to basics - say to have video out. But again, A500+ is a very common system so you have to judge yourself how much time and effort you want to put into purchasing new stuff and setting it up, compared to the value you can get.

Also the state and look of your system will greatly influence the value - there can be a huge difference between a beat-up, yellowed A500 with dirty cables and few disks, and a clean, nice system in a presentable original box, complete with original manuals and accessories. Same goes for the monitor. If your system is the later, then its's worth investing to test it out fully - for example.

i wont talk about prices

but,you need to concider the condition of the items, and wether they work or not, that effects price

if you are not able to turn them on and show them working, the value,as far as im concerned drops drasticly, haha and i repair monitors and tv's,its not a plug for work its just common sense dead equipment is paper weights untill its repaired
