ALFA Power hdd information A500 Amiga

Would anybody know of any links online, where I can gather more information about the use and technical data on this particular hard disk drive, never used one on the Amiga before? Is there anything to be aware before installing it? Is it better with the power cable or can you just use without? Also, do I need the install tool disk to Install it as I don't have one? Many thanks

What is inside it? A physical/spinning IDE hard drive and memory? If you only use an IDE-to-CF adapter you probably would not need a power source. If you have a spinning drive and memory then you will most likely need a power source.

As for autobooting, what version of Kickstart do you have in your A500? It should boot with KS 1.3 after you run the installer. It also depends on what size drive is installed.

There's a lot of 'it depends' without more info/pics.

I think I have one of these in my 'to be repaired' boxes. If you could take/upload some pics of the power supply label I would appreciate it.
