A few months back I jumped ship from my 2007 BMW 3 series to the MG6 2015 TL in gun metal grey. What a difference - considerably quicker than the BMW and much more loaded with kit. Tax is only £30/yr. Build quality fairly similar to my 3 series. The BMW did not hold its value too well and I expect the same for the MG6 - if I lose 2.5k per year that will be expected (I only paid £13,600 as it was the ex demo model, instead of £18,600). The car is designed, engineered and final assembly - in the UK but much of the parts are Chinese. But then again I think much of the parts of my old BMW were from china.

My MG dealer has shown greater courtesy in 3 months than I ever had from 7 years from BMW. In addition when you drive a BMW other road users treat you with contempt, not so in the MG.

I like the sporty handling of the MG - I believe it won the BTCC 2014 and was rated one of the best handling cars by Auto Express.

I am amazed I never posted this when I got it nearly 3 years ago... But here's my AudiSport A1.

I understand this is a stale thread, but I must annouce I sold my Rover 200 (remember?)! Yes, it lasted 17 years, bought new in 1998.

Despite it's old age and lousy reputation, it was a very dependable car and only ever let me down twice (and one of the times was 10 meters from my home). I was really sad to let it go, it was taken down and dismantled since nobody seemed to want to buy it. My girl cried like a baby (well, she is 8 years old), and I had to take her on a final stroll to the river on the Rover for proper goodbyes. With photos. Sad day. It had to go, for my wife needed long commutes through the mountains and I was a bit scared of the safety in case of accident. A newer car should always be better in that regard, so we decided to finally replace the Rover.

To lighten things up a bit, I got a new car (obviously)! It's a brand new Renault Clio GT Sports Tourer 120 EDC. A pretty face, 120 BHP engine, automatic gearbox with paddle-shift, lots of tech, a bit roomier than the Rover (but no much), basically a winning formula. I love it!

There's a small button labeled "RS-Drive" on the dashboard. Once you press the thing, the car seems to be a different one: the gearbox keeps engine RPM on the higher half of the range (to deliver power fast when solicited without a gear change), the steering becomes a lot stiffer, and the throttle pedal more linear. The ESP is cut in half, so the car allows a lot more freedom (and mistakes), and gears shift faster. It's great!

Cool car Fitzsteve, I love the styling of the RX8 but put of by the high running costs.
Would make a good weekend toy.

I have 4 cars, 2 runners, Rover 25 and BMW 218d and 2 none running TR7s.

I have a 55 focus diesel. Bought it cheap £800ish because its covered in dints (previous owners girl friend attacked it ) Its got 140k miles on it and i will run it until it dies. It comfy and it does about 70-80 miles on a tenner.
