Hi Guys
Gave you my A3000 project now meet my A4000 one spec is:

A4000 Desktop 040
Mediator 4000Di
Voodoo 3 3000
Sb128
Zorro Big Ram Plus 256MB
Tandem IDE
CF Card 4Gb
GVP T-Rex 8gb ram
DCE Scan Magic

Only thing I have found is that I cant get Classic Workbench 3.9 to run only the 3.1 advanced version. Board was recapped and had some tracks repaired under the ram sockets by Bebek, Chris did his normal great work.

Still have the Scanmagic plus my Retina Z2 but going to sell these on also you can see my next project the A1200 with Indi and Blizzard 1260 just need PSU.

Nice work, some part of me wishes I kept my original 4000 Case

Have you managed to get your big ram plus to work fine with the mediator 4000di? I mean does the ram show up in WB, only I've had 2 and never got them to work!

nice one pal
it looks like mine, but i haven't tried using 4000Di pci mediator yet. did you try booting 3.9 without mediator drivers ?

Hi guys yeah got the zorro ram to work perfect with 3.9 if I load it from the original CD 3.9 is perfect but as soon as I try Classic Workbench 3.9 if just shows software errors that was even before the mediator

OK another Question for you guru's how did you cure the heat problems with the Mediator and the scan doubler

Thats a really good question...I hope there is further input from others on the subject!

I am yet to reassemble my 4000/mediator/Indi IIcr....but when I had it assembled previously it gave artefacts at higher resolutions which I suspected was due to heat....I had this issue with a 1200 version and fitting a fan helped. I considered using one of the rear slot fans to move air underneath the mediator....but havent tried it if it will physically fit or indeed if it fits, whether it would be functional enough (volume of air / cooling effect). Have you got one of those types of fans to try?

I looked at a fan underneath but there is no room so had to go for a suction fan above the mediator card and hope it pulls enough heat out, I did not get artefacts but I noticed the DCE output was moving on my screen when its hot. I am like you hoping others will give input to see how they got on

Hi
Classic Workbench 3.9 runs fine for me on a similar config, except that i dot not use an indivision so i don't have any heat problem

tested with

Radeon 9250 128
SB128
fastEthernet 100 with realtek chip

Hey warr8or
Yeah just seems strange 3.9 does not seem to like my gvp T-rex I have a card loaded with 3.9 CWB and it runs fine on my Blizzard 1260 but its crashing constant and I have tried a fresh load of CWB 3.9 on the machine same thing strange because CWB ADV 3.1 works great solid so must be a library issues somewhere.

couple of extra pics can anyone tell me has this been updated notice one of the chips has a stickers on it last time I saw this it was upgrade chips from Elbox.

Update to my Beast of an A4000

Hi guys
Well decided to update my thread at last so here goes A4000 spec update:

Cyberstorm MkII 72Mhz 128mb
Big ram 256mb
Cybervision 64/3d
Ratte Monitor switch
Indi Mk2 CR
Ardrine2
Elbox Fast ATA MkIV
Chucky updated PSU 300watt
CF cards 2x 4gig
Gotek

as you can see I have been busy with this machine she runs like a dream rock solid my only fault is the board memory which at some time in the future I think will have to go to chucky to do the hack on and replace the sockets the board was recapped but I forgot to get the sockets replaced LOL.

nice cooler to spread some of the heat out from the GPU its weird never remember them getting that hot in a pc!! CDrom had to come out to make way for the cooler fans in the front she has a lot of items running warm so air flow a must handy thing about CF cards no real heat from them LOL. Thanks guys for the comments.

Well, I thought I might just update my A4000 project, it seems I have ignored it for the last 8 years or so LOL.

So with a few changes here and there the machine today is still sporting some bits from before but alot of changes otherwise.

Today I fitted another Sata to IDE converter so I could put a newer CD drive in.

Spec:
A recapped and resimm socketed Motherboard thanks to Mike a while back.
Phase 5 Cyberstorm, 128mb ram a rev6 060 running at just 60mhz to keep the heat down.
Then the ZZ9000 with Audio
3.2.2 roms and OS3.2
new Gotek drive
Fast ATA with all Sata drives fitted to it via converters. Now have a SATA ssd and SATA DVDRW.
Oh and of course a replacement PSU in a Nice custom-made PSU enclosure too. (I do still have my Old one)

I really want to get AmiKit onto the 4000 but from what little I have read so far, it looks like I need to dig out my 3.1 Roms again! Unless someone knows how to get it on with OS 3.2.

Well, another Year another Project, My A4000 had a poorly Motherboard after battery Acid caused problems so with some searching and offers here, I found Vinny in the UK on Discord. He did a brilliant Purple board via Kav who built my Z3660 then just to finish of the Purple madness I got a Beta version of the Liberator from Torsti76 on discord too

The PCI is disabled but the rest of the card works a treat. I don't need anything but Zorro for my ZZ9000 so that was cool. Plus IT'S PURPLE LOLOL. Torsti still has 5 of these Daughterboards so if you want one please contact him via Discord.
Having the Direct ATX via the connection on the DB is great, just need a switch now. Also, the sensors work as do the Fan controllers via software. The Z3660 is a working project but fun to play with and soon it will offer 030,040,060 via emu I am lucky I have my Rev6 in there so that's cool.

As you can see from my original post on my A4000 it has come a long way over the years I still have my old A4000 psu from Chucky and my DB also the board has my original custom chips so as much as she is purple now she is still my old Beasty.

Another Update Guys, after getting a switch connected up I now have the ATX directly into the Daughter Board and the machine works well with it. Using i2c and the fan controller software fanny I have both fan controllers up and running it is nice to have the fans running not at flat out but at a controlled level.
Oh also managed to get hold of an IDE drive too, using IDE Fix and it runs great but keep getting the demo warning so need to find other software, does anyone have any idea's?

The other area I could use some help with is a 3d print for a large fan holder for the A4000d!!
