I gave up with CDTV, need to found another ram solution for it. :( I already bought a scsi expansion to it. :)

Anyway, board works perfvectly with my A500, I even bought a 68010 cpu to it. Just wondering what to do with it, I'm not a interested to have a "non historical" expanded A500, I'm more A1200 guy myself.

I've got my board running in my CDTV on WB 3.1 + Kick 3.1 (with CD drive and extended roms disabled), And booting off CF. But for some reason the command "addmem start 200000 to 9fffff" makes my system reset after approx 3 seconds with software failure error 8000 0003 task 00040E78. I don't see any memory added before it resets. My machine is booting off a CF card that I know works on my other real Amigas. I configured it in WinUAE though. Vanilla install of WB 3.1 with Better WB installed directly after. addmem is included as part of Better WB so i'm using that version which seems to be the same as the one from aminet. Any clues as to what I might be doing wrong?

And for other folks attempting to get this board working in a CDTV, here's alternative points for /OVR (white wire) and /INT2 (blue wire): -

Just did a simple continuity test from pin 11 and 13 of the Expansion port and found those two points.

CF hard drive working great, just can't get Fast Mem to work. Tried putting command in before setpatch and even booting with no startup. Each time it resets like there is a conflict or something. I don't have anything else in the CDTV apart from a Joystick adapter (which shouldn't cause issues) has anyone tried this in a CDTV with WB/Kick 3.1 and JP15 removed to disable CDTV boot roms?

I've tried it with all roms and WB's. CD on/Off. Booting from floppy, HD ON/OFF, I even tried different mem settings. It did add the memory but then crashed a few seconds later.

Now the CF card doesn't work any more so it's sitting in the junk box.

EDIT: The memory works fine in an A500.

Oh dear... has anybody got this working with a CDTV for a long period of time? I was under the impression it was working for some at least. I don't have an A500 to test it on, but I am quite sure Kipper2k tested it well before sending me it. I hope someone has a solution.

Edit: - my CDTV is a Rev 2.2c if that's of any use.

OK, I had some spare time today to mess about with my CDTV. I tried to narrow down a good mem location and ended up finding out that it works for my CDTV if I use "addmem start 210000 to 9fffff" this gives me 8,172,960 bytes of Fast Mem. I put the line directly after Setpatch in my Startup Sequence. So any of you guys that have had trouble with your CDTV's, try 210000 instead of 200000.

I'm seeing people having problems with this on the CDTV.
I was intending on purchasing one of these CF+8MB boards (as soon as money is available) and wondered if anybody has tried on an A500/A500+ with A570 CD drive?
If so, was there any issues?

Amiga 500 4/8mb fastmem boards with IDE

Hi i just ordered an 8mb from kipper,(directly not "through" amibay) out of interest did anyone get a version without autoconfig for the a500 (if kipper made it - edit it seems he said in the forum he could supply a second cpld without autoconfig for $4). There was discussion in this thread about using it with an action replay 3. (And manually adding ram via addmem) anyone get this working ?

I think there are quite a few incompatibilities, however to be fair it would be very difficult and/or expensive for Kipper to test all configs, so I guess you just have to take a gamble.

I purchased an 8mb+IDE board to go in a Phoenix A1000 - no worky. In fact, the board kills CIA chips in the Phoenix!!!! The first CIA that blew made me think it was a coincidence, but after the second one went I knew it was the 8mb/IDE board.

However, the same board works find in an A500 so go figure.

The issue with the AR isn't a problem with the design at all.
No 8mb card will work with it.

Anyone using this in an amiga 2000? Can you still use a separate accelerator at the same time? (i.e. GVP 030) Looking at the diagrams, does it take up a port?

BTW for all guys who wants to install this board in A2000 (http://kipper2k.com/a2000.html), instead of trying to carve out two pins from unused pcb board, use a spare usb male plug, obviously dismatle it and plug it in to correct pins, works as a charm and you don't have to use glue.
