Hello everyone,
I'm building an Acill A4000D rev b, I've got a lovely new case to put it into now, so, next thing, powering it up... What are the options with PSUs? What's everyone's opinion on this?

Also, on the lookout for a front panel.. I found a couple of 3D printed options, not sure about the end finish.

Thanks in advance

Kind regards

If you are like me. Then I have a Corsair SF450 with the set of cables I bought off a seller on here for the ACILL Board.

Use these on all of my A4K setup’s 👍🏻

Perfect! Thanks for that... I'm not too worried in period specific..

Got my cables from this seller on here:

He will also custom make you one if needed. I got a extended version of the Amigakit type one for my A4KD tower with Mediator.

The decision between a 20+ year old PSU and a new PSU seems pretty clear. If you really want to be period correct watch Dr Pickle Fingers recent video where he transplants a ATX PSU guts in a recreation stainless steel Amiga PSU housing. IOW Chris Edwards.

I did see that one! Dr Pickle fingers.. :D

I'll check out the other 'bay for a Corsair SF450

The old PSU will not as far as I can see fit into this new case…

You cannot buy SF450 PSU's anymore here in the USA with GPU's nowdays consuming that much by themselves we are back to the 1000W PSU days.....

I've come to realised this whilst fishing about on ebay... Found a CV450, although the connectivity is different Still may serve ok..

Look at that beauty! Thanks for the pointers... I guess that 600W unit could run anything amiga-esq.. I guess the heaviest drain would be a graphics card?

Aha... Good point :) I'm thinking too modern, those GPUs chugging away power
