Quick question - if I support campaign with 5 Euro, will I get 5 redeem codes for Amiga Reloaded?

Quick question - if I support campaign with 5 Euro, will I get 5 redeem codes for Amiga Reloaded?

It says so quite clearly on the campaign site:
No codes will be given to backers who solely contribute for an Amiga Reloaded redeem code and the contribution will be considered as a gift.

Hi, I agreed with Jens a maximum of 2 per backer and only in combination with a contribution / plegde for an AMIGA CASE. Every supporter / backer needs to get a fair change to obtain a code.

Just had a quick look at the campaign website, and am a bit confused, the video describes 3 modes/variants,
the classic one where all Amiga components go in it,
another where itx mobo and Amiga keyboard go in
lastly a blank one where a keyboard sits on top of the case with modern itx mobo

yet on the list of perks they are just described as internal a1200 keyboard and external keyboard?

Hi,

The bottom part of the AMIGA CASE is pre-configured for placement of the classic Amiga 1200 motherboard and for placement of Thin Mini-ITX motherboards, Raspberry PI 1B+/2/3 and the Keyrah V2 keyboard adapter together in one AMIGA CASE (fixed placement) as shown in the video.

The top part of the AMIGA CASE is of your choice, either for usage with an internal amiga 1200 keyboard or with an external keyboard.

Did this answer your question ?

Yep, thanks for clearing that up

Hi, Im looking for thin mini-ITX motherboard for Amiga case, with socket AM1 or FM2+, but there is probably no solution. :(

I checked in ECS, no stock A78F2-TI worldwide. Today I'll try to check Gigabyte.

Hi martyn27,

Most Thin Mini-ITX motherboards are for intel cpu's but there are Thin Mini-ITX motherboards available for AMD cpu's.

Check these motherboards :

What would it take to mount an Amiga 500 in this case? Just a new backplate, or is it more involved than that?

Would you consider making a transparent or semi-transparent case?

Does the case have a slot for a CD-ROM ribbon cable?

I'm a bit confused by the wording in the full description.

It says:

"The bottom part of the AMIGA CASE is pre-configured for placement of the classic Amiga 1200 motherboard and for placement of Thin Mini-ITX motherboards, Raspberry PI 1B+/2/3 and the Keyrah V2 keyboard adapter together in one AMIGA CASE (fixed placement)."

Does this mean that you can have a 1200 motherboard, a thin mini ITX AND a Raspberry installed in the case (three motherboards, all in one case simultaneously) or something else? The wording is a bit awkward so I'm not sure that the actual meaning is clear.

I THINK what this case can hold is EITHER an Amiga 1200 motherboard OR a thin mini ITX and / or a Raspberry. In other words, if you have a real Amiga 1200 motherboard in the case, that's the only motherboard that can be in the case. If you have a thin mini ITX or a Raspberry, you can install one or both of these in the case at the same time (for a total of one or two motherboards in the case) but no Amiga 1200 motherboard (three motherboards won't fit).

If the last paragraph is the correct interpretation, do you think it is possible to clarify this in the campaign description?

Thinking that 3 motherboards can be in one case might sound like a crazy assumption, but I've seen many projects fall apart from imprecise communication by the project builder and unrealistic assumptions by backers. If there's any wiggle room in the communication, backers WILL assume whatever benefits them the most (three motherboards in one case at the same time in this instance) regardless of the plausibility of the assumptions or the intent of the builder. This can quickly lead to bad feelings and bad press for the project.

I hope that you take this as the constructive criticism that it's meant to be. Backer expectations need to be managed before they get out of hand.

Hi Pgovotsos,

NP at all, thanks for your comments.

The AMIGA CASE can hold either 1) an Amiga 1200 motherboard or 2) One Thin Mini ITX and / or one Raspberry PI in combination with a Keyrah V2 keyboard adapter.

In the last option, nr.2, you can place the two mentioned motherboards together in one AMIGA CASE leaving enough space / room to place a Keyrah V2 keyboard adapter. With fixed placement is meant that the positions of the motherboards and the Keyrah V2 keyboard adapter are set.

Concerning the design of the AMIGA CASE, this has in particular to do with:
1) the mounted screw points in the bottom part of the AMIGA CASE for the applicable hardware;
2) the ribbon of the Amiga 1200 keyboard is not in the middle of the keyboard and the limited length of the ribbon;
3) the PCB layout of the Raspberry PI / Thin Mini ITX motherboards;
4) the back of AMIGA CASE has to be strong enough by placing support points / 'legs' and these support points do not get in the way of the connections of the installed / applicable hardware.

The motherboard of an Amiga 500 is much larger in depth then an Amiga 1200 motherboard, about 6/7cm. Although the AMIGA CASE is bigger/larger then a classic Amiga 1200 case, it can not hold an Amiga 500 motherboard.

Will the LED PCB fit a standard A1200 case (original C= version)?

Hi, If you mean the PCB LED for Thin Mini ITX motherboards as mentioned in my campaign, the answer is YES. Keep in mind this PCB LED for Thin Mini-ITX can not be connected to an Amiga 1200 motherboard.

Will the LED PCB fit a standard A1200 case (original C= version)?

Awesome, yes only intended for thin mini-itx build in older case. I will add a couple extra when I put in a pledge cheers!

Question: Are the top and bottom interchangeable? So can we put an external keyboard top onto an internal keyboard bottom? I would be most interested in buying a single base, but having both tops available to use on it depending on what i felt like doing with it.
