at the moment I'm stuck with a WB2 rom on my A3000, 20mb ram - what web browser would work?

i just need access to aminet really :-)

mike.

Just check the readme's to be sure OS2.x is supported, I know IBbrowse uses MUI, does that support OS2.x?

AWEB should be more basic and do what you need :)

I'm trying a few at the min, MUI won't install - error at line something or other grrr

hang on

IBrowse is available free on 3.9,(needs 3.1 rom) with MUI. The Amiga Inc (Escom and not the IP squatters) 3.1 workbench and surf-net software did work ok for me with a 28k modem, in 2000 lol. I haven't tried it since!

I believe Amikit sells the proper kit (PC-Card/ethernet) and drivers for broadband internet access.

fyi MUI does work with 2.x - I've had it working with Workbench 2.1 but not tried with 2.0

As a stop gap, could you soft a kick 3.1 rom legitimately obtained from Amiga forever? I think you would need to rip the rom from WinUAE to get it to work in your A3000.

You could use a version check in the startup sequence to see if 3.1 was kicked, and if not get it to kick it, then on the reboot it would boot up workbench 3.1 upwards.
