Hello.

I am a very big Star Trek fan for decades.

So far i have seen everything of The Original Series, The Animated Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and all the 11 movies.

In France, Star Trek TOS is very well known because it was on TV on numerous occasions since the 70's but TNG and the other are less known because they have been only a few times on cable TV. I have mostly seen all seasons on DVD rather than TV.

Now i have come to the end of the very last season of Deep Space Nine, which is in my opinion the best series of them all from the start of the Dominion Wars.

It leaves me now with either Voyager or Enterprise. I have just ordered the first DVD set of Voyager to start. However, since the 90's i have only heard mockeries about Voyager.

Is it any good? Should i move for Enterprise instead?

Any other fan here?

I personally love Voyager... It's voyager and TNG for me. Enterprise is less like StarTrek than most IMO.

oh yes, i am fan of James T. Kirk and Spock, i love the Enterprise NCC 1702

Love Star Trek, though not watched any in a few years, by winter I will be in the mood for a tng and voyager marathon.

Much prefered Voyager, between Janeway or 7of9 hmmmm

Also loved first three quarters of DS9 but it went off track with the whole wormhole entities/ cisco being god blah blah.

My friends and I didn't get the hate for Enterprise at all, the characters were far more natural than Voyager's wooden planks, with great banter going on between Archer, Trip and T'Pol, and also Trip and Malcolm. Dr. Phlox was fantastic, marred somewhat by one bad episode but we'll just ignore that. He was a delight to watch, especially that one episode where he went into hibernation and they woke him early. Hoshi and Travis were less well developed, but the rest were well played and very fun to watch.

You had great DS9 veterans like Jeffrey Combs (who played Weyoun) come on board and introduce great new characters like Shran. It didn't end well, and one of the decisions made for the story of the war arc was absolutely terrible, but generally it was of high quality and I and my friends really enjoyed it. It was just hitting it's stride when the twin terrors of Berman and Braga came on board to write the last episode (horribly) and kill it off.

Voyager could be good, but it was very inconsistent. The Doctor was the best thing about it. Janeway was alright, but they marred her character in the same way as Phlox's when they both committed murder/genocide respectively. Tuvok was played well as the unemotional Vulcan. Beltran hated the show and that comes through with Chakotay, the character is useless. Kim is about as interesting as a wooden plank can be, Paris can be alright and Torres is roughly the same. Seven is good but the reason she exists has everything to do with her uniform and nothing to do with her story. Neelix and Kes are both blargh.

The thing about Voyager is that they had these two crews thrown in together on a ship with limited resources. Unfortunately, all the issues with merging the two crews together were solved in the first three or so episodes. They didn't do the concept of being under constant attack, running out of energy and resources and the ship falling apart well at all, dealing with it in only an episode or two. The show had this great premise that they would be on their own, being attacked by hostile species and running out of food and energy, but they were only a few times. Despite only carrying a certain amount of torpedoes (which could not be replicated) and shuttles they were firing them every second episode or losing them every now and then and this never made an impact on the show - there were always more torpedoes and shuttles.

They also undid all of The Next Generation's work on the Borg and turned them into sissies. :double

Never got very far in Voyager or DS9, but I did enjoy Enterprise, once I got over the Andromedaness of it  Haven't gotten around to finishing the very last episode yet though. Phlox IS fantastic!

I really should try starting up Voyager again.

the original - shaky sets and bad acting - excellent , TNG was good but i hated they voyager thing with janeway - i stopped watching after that.

I never said it was a terrible show :), just feels less like Trek...

and MMmmmm Hoshi...

Wasn't really replying to you, but to people in general who hated Enterprise (and there's a lot of them!). It was a breath of fresh air after the staleness of Voyager.

Lol, no worries :)

Yeah was an enjoyable show for the most part. I don't really judge a show by what they're supposed to be, it's what it is in its own right that makes it worth watching. Some people just over analyse.

Hey there is a lot of Trekkies in here it seems :-)

What about any Star Trek CCG players? Was invicible from 1994 to 1998 in that game (first edition) :-)

I liked both, but have better memories of Voyager.
Never was a big fan of DS9 (Dax was nice), B5 had a better story at that time.

I'm not really a star trek fan but i like voyager and have the box-set :)

Never really been bothered by enterprise or the original star trek

i love startrek i have seen every episode and film
the only dislike was ds9

but loved the rest

TNG during the 90s was a big memory, loved the Borg :)

Otherwise I enjoyed the films with Shatner - particularly Wrath of Khan, that was epic.

I am a big Star Trek fan, love all each of the different takes on it, definitely the original and TNG stand out as the best examples, DS9 and Voyager were still very good but it felt like some of the excitement was gone, Enterprise is great though and it doesn't deserve the bad rap it gets. I think a lot of times people forget how to enjoy a good Sci Fi show had get caught up in the technicalities of it. I just have to say that B5 was an amazing show and along with Quantum Leap is up there as some of the best television made.

Never liked Voyager but Enterprise was superb, really enjoyed the characters.

TC :)

Enterprise

Enterprise

Hi Guys
Loved voyager but Enterprise just gets it in my books because it wraps up some many questions from the first series which I am now watching again thanks to CBS :huh::huh::huh: I think with Voyager Janeway is brillant and by far my favourite captain after John Luke.
