Quick update from Per,

I'm sending you new eprom with 1240/1260 firmware. Please note: The firmware rom you have will not work with EC or LC cpu (Apollo 1260 75Mhz EC version has different firmware)! Only cards with Mach 131 buschip can be upgraded, cards with the older Mach 130 will only work with 040 cpu

Regards,
Per-Gunnar

nice one a result of sorts, any chance you could tell us the version of the rom when it arrives?

i'm curius.ive a strange hunch it'll be 5.50 or 5.55

i verify the kit from ebay to upgrade the 1240 to 1260 and specify the rom don't go with ec and lc cpu

i read the chip for verify the version and if possible read a 5.61

the eprom from ebay is an 5.60, verify with file download from this forum

please, i need a floppy install, the dms not are bootable

ive burnt the eprom.bin and it makes no difference at still freeze at a 68060lc rev4 screen.

branch cache nostorebuffer no fpu no superscalar no fastram

grrrr

hi Roy, the Apollo bin i got from you is v5.60 and i doesn't like my apollo or the other apollo card here.

Now the Apollo that works so well is a v5.55 and I'm just blanking my rom to burn that :-)

so at least the roms will be the same.

The rom is dump from my Apollo (1260 rom with no markings) is complete nonsense and has do readable data at all.

make from that what you will...

did i read that right, did you say no readable data on the rom on your apollo?
probably explains why it boots with an 040, but still it shouldent boot at all?!?

anyway any chance of a copy of the 5.55,kind sir.

let us know how you got on will you, this is one hell of a saga

whats the problem with your card ? I have an image of the 5.55 rom (and 5.60) if anyone needs it. roy i'll mail it to you.

mike :-)

emil sent buddy. v5.55

thanks mike, imwondering what the difference is between the two.:)

oh sorry just noticed this, you dont need to boot the floppy just copy the files across to there relivent/mirror directory on the harddisk in libs: and c:
and add a line to your startup sequence job done.
just make sure you rename the original 68040 file the commodore install disk puts on your drive to 68040.libraryOLD so the system dont crash at boot time

If you look in oracle, I asked for good Apollo 1260 Libs and the guys here provided them :-)

Copy the Libs to your Libs folder in system, copy cpu60 to c: and add this command to your startup sequence. C:cpu60 b

That should be it.

ok, copy the file

in startup add a line c:\cpu60 b

----------------

i have read a ram for dump the eprom, the version is 5.61 and is ok with 68ec060 but don't govern the scsi

I'm not sure what the problem is with my ec060 I'll just have to wait for the new rom to arrive or if per sends me the .bin file.

Yes edit your startup sequence and add this line at the beginning c:cpu60 b

Have you copied all the other files ?

Cpu60 to c:
All the Libs in johns zip to system/Libs

https://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=26791 (use these libs and copy them to system:libs)
https://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=26791 ( in post 6 , the cpu60 command is included in the Apollo.dms disk)

Or I've added them all here for you.

68040.library
68040new.library
68040old.library
68060.library
cpu060

thanks Zetr0, i use os3.9, i suppose setpacht is the last version, if possible i update with boingbag and the last setpatch for full update

yet another mild update:

Per has supplied me with the 75mhz firmware for the 060EC. Ive tried it but no go it locks up before WB.
the version he sent was 5.60 or a variant of it.

he also sent the full mmu/fpu 5.60 firmware.

I may try it later, at the mo im running the card as a 68040 and its nice just to see it work :-)

im running the 5.60 firmware (75mhz?) version now on the 68040 with no issues.

I now have

5.60 full mmu/fpu
5.60 EC version
5.55 full mmu / fpu.

I give up until my cpu's from stan arrive. if it doesn't work on 68060 then. well im either keep it as 68040 or sell it on and buy a 68060 version. its starting to wear me down.

:-) mike.
