Yes PAL A1000 is without daughterboard, and there a free place between the two ODD & EVEN boot chips.

Thank you . Meanwhile, I've spent time reading this interesting thread (all 38 pages ) seeing how switcher evolved to its current nice form with unified PCB, power led replacement etc . Sorry if I am bit impatient - I could not find the current install guide (I guess I'll get it later ;-) ). And by reading the thread I am a bit confused, so still one question: with last version of switcher, do we still need to do any modifications to PAL A1000 motherboard? I see with new board and smart connectors we do not have to solder sockets and wires, that's good .

What about cutting traces on some pins (to disable WOM?) - is it still required to do that?

2) Are the kickstart ROM standard one ? (can 1.3 & 2.04 ROM from an A2000 or A500 be used)


What is your delivery time for brand new orders? (bonus question)

Yes, the switcher installation needs some modifications onto the motherboard as explain above.

Yes, the Kickstart roms are standard one. You can use 1.3, 2.04, 2.05, 3.1 roms from A500 (+), A600, A2000 and CDTV.

For the delivery time, sorry but no answer! When some switchers are ready, I contact members from the list.

O.K. - and while doing it, can I do something to make it easily reversible? I mean: perhaps soldering some pin for jumper(s) to easily connect them etc., so that I could for example for whatever reason in future, remove the switcher, easily connect (or disconnect) jumper(s), and be happy loading kickstart from disk again (without having to solder anything back )?
